Caught so many Karp and Wailmer. Not one has been shiny

 

I got both yesterday way out on a pretty secluded trail. I couldn't believe it. Haha

 

Japan was amazing for catching every type of poke. Now I'm back to the suburbs and NOTHING.

 

I'm really hoping that maybe for once they won't end this event right at 3 o'clock my time (when I get off of work). Because I really want a couple more hours of triple stardust considering it's one of the parts of this game that I never seem to have enough of.

 

I don't see that ever becoming a thing, honestly. If I could just wait for a friend of mine who plays a lot to do 4-5 raids and be able to part with a legendary without me even having to leave the apartment, i'd never raid again, and this company makes sooooo much money from people buying stuff needed for raids.

I think these special events that have more common spawns of rarer pokemon do a good enough job that trading won't ever be needed. There has to be a way for them to financially benefit from including it, and unless they have a thing where you have to buy a "trade pass" or something, I don't think it'll ever happen.

 

yeah i don't see trading ever being a thing either, for no fault of their own. a bunch of geeks get something out of exploiting this game, trading would encourage all of their worst habits

 

Trading could work if it follows gym rules. I can’t place a Legendary mon in a gym, shouldn’t be able to trade it within the PoGO community either.

I think the Special Research/Field Research is a trillion times better than say a 50km egg with a guaranteed legendary mon in it. So glad they did that.

I simply want trading so I can complete my dex with regionals. I would hope if they do trading that they would make it to where you could only trade across it's "rarity." Like you can only trade a Zapdos for a Articuno. Something along those lines. Because I could see people really exploiting and adults doing terrible trades with kids.

I only say this because when I used to play Magic the Gathering I would watch grown adults completely screw younger kids over with trades. It was really messed up and as much as I hate to say it I could see some adults doing to the same thing here.

Yeah I don't think I really see trading working out just because it goes against so many of the aspects of the gameplay. Even CP levels would make things weird.

Although I'm surprised they didn't incorporate trading just for the few Gen 1 Pokémon that have to be traded to evolve. That would have been a nice touch.

I generally like having more theme events, except that I STILL NEED A GODDAMN DITTO

I wonder if it will actually go away for those that don't complete it before the next batch of special research starts? To me, it would make more sense that it will stay with you until you complete it and then once you've beaten that "level (mew research)" you will move to the next one like most video games. I could be wrong though.

 

Niantic said that there is no end date to Mew.

 

Feels good to get a Medicham. I rarely see Meditite in my area.

 

Today was the first time I'd ever seen Meditite. lol

 

Pretty rare for me too but I've still hatched two I think. Anyone here get either shiny yet?

this event rules for me. there are 5-6 gyms in the plaza i work at, all heavily contested by about 50/50 Mystic and Valor. my desk is literally right in the middle of a gym, so we are just fighting over it over and over all day

 

also anyone else having a research glitch? it's day 6/7 for me, but every time i complete a task it acts like i got my seventh stamp, and the professor pops up and is like "let's see what you got". the "claim reward" button comes up for the big box and everything but is unresponsive to taps, and when i close the menu and go back in it displays the 6/7 stamps again and is back to normal

Literally got a shiny Medidite on the first one I caught yesterday. Was pretty stoked about it.

 

I like this event already. There is a pretty condensed area where there are a bunch of gyms and yesterday when the event just started I was able to hit 4 raids. 2 two star and 2 three star with a lucky egg and a star piece going. Also, got a shiny meditite and I'm loving the fighting types being everywhere because I am going to use this stardust and all the Machop candy I get to max out my 100% IV Machamp. Niantic is starting to truly learn how to keep their players hooked.

Not gonna lie I was kind of looking forward to a break in between events, but it looks like it's almost getting to a point where there will always be some sort of "event" going on. Good job Niantic, good job.

 

Actually, I noticed that this morning too with mine and I'm on day 6/7 as well. It's not really affecting the gameplay, just a little annoying. However, can't wait to get Zapdos tomorrow on day 7!
