It took me around a year to get from 29 to 30. Granted I didn’t play every day but I did play often enough

 

My man, if you are at lv40 without spoofing, my hat is off to you. Thats insane and worthy of praise.

 

There's a group of guys I raid with sometimes who are all at 40. They spend their weekends driving around LA hitting dozens of 5 star raids. They all have multiple accounts and Poke-Pluses to constantly catch 'mons and spin stops. They hit 40 by playing way more than anyone else.

 

There's a lot of people here that are level 40 and act like they're better than everyone. A week ago there was a big drama in one of our Facebook Messenger chats that started because a guy asked if there was a list of gyms that were eligible for Mewtwo in our city and one of those level 40 guys said he had one but only shares it with people who deserve it. It ended up with a bunch of poeple getting kicked out of the group for defending the poor guy who asked the question.

 

Perfect weather today so I took my bike down the trail for like 20 miles. Ended up completing my research for Mew and got him (89%). Also managed to get a shiny Magikarp AND Wailmer while I was at it. Good day for sure.

 

Not strictly related but I decided not to join my local Facebook group because they make it a requirement that "you're not going to whine about spoofers".

I literally had no opinion on spoofing until that point but if you're going to portray anyone who has the temerity to disagree with you as "whining" then you can fuck off and I'll do it on my own, thanks

 

That makes me really grateful that the Pokemon Go Los Angeles group I'm in kicks anyone out for spoofing.

 

With complete honesty it’s just that I have a 45 minute commute to and from my job 5 days a week (I’m a school teacher) and my daughter goes to school where I teach so I just give the phone to her and tell her to catch every single thing she sees and hit every stop she can. It’s worked out pretty well so far. But it’ll probably still be 6 months for me to get to 40 (took me a month and a half to get from 37 to 38).

 

IT guy at work kept talking about setting up my phone to spoof my GPS. I told him "If only there was already a device that let me play Pokémon from the comfort of my own home..."

 

Another reason I’ve gotten this far not spoofing is I’m actually fairly good about being patient when it comes to mass evolving so I only mass evolve with a lucky egg when there is like a double or triple xp event.

 

We play alike. I’m 585,000 into lvl 38 without spoofing and mass evolve multiple times when there’s xp bonus events using lucky eggs.

 

I will admit, a friend once logged in for me in New Orleans when he was on vacation to catch a Corsola he found. But it ran anyways so it doesn’t count.

Yes, but I am unsure of which. I just know there are people in our slack group that do it still.

 

I do hope they incorporate trading with other players at some point. That would truly be amazing and a lot of fun.

 

With the way battles work in this game, I feel like PvP won't really be that fun. I mean, in other Pokemon games you need strategy. In this game, you choose your Pokemon and then it's just pressing the screen repeatedly.

 

I honestly think a level cap raise might finally make me quit playing. It’s taken a long time to get to 38. I just want to enjoy it for a little bit

 

The strategy in my eyes is having the right movesets/dodging. Makes all the difference in taking down legendary Pokemon. If players are able to time dodging charge moves and what not, it could make for some interesting battles. Would be harder than raid bosses who literally stand there.

 

I'm just 1 Mewtwo away from having a full Mewtwo party!

 

Finally got my first ever shiny today. Wailmer. I’m happy.

 

I have seen 943 Magikarp and I’m still yet to even see a shiny in the wild let alone catch one. I’m starting to accept that I will never get a red Gyarados

Pretty sure my shiny Magikarp (now 2800 CP Gyarados) came from a raid.

 

Yeah I pretty much hit every Magikarp raid I see in hopes of getting one. I shouldn’t complain too much. I got a 100% Magikarp from a raid.
