Had an excellent morning - got my final two raids and evolved my new Shiny Gyarados along with a whole load of gen 1 Pokemon I was saving - so am now up to 142 - plus I used a Lucky Egg so total was about 70000 XP in half an hour.

From gen 1 I now just need (legendaries aside) to evolved Omanyte and Grimer, for which I lack the candies, and try to hatch a Tangela or a Kangaskhan (and hope for a region swap).

 

Ok that helps quite a bit! Thanks! I'm assuming since Dragon and Dark moves will work, my Gyarados with Bite and Dragon Pulse could work but I'll have to see what they recommend when I get there. Not even too hopeful that enough people will show so we'll see.

 

If you're using a Gyarados, make sure it has Bite/Crunch. The defense for them does not match up to Dragonite and will probably die early on. And also, you'd be surprised at how many people show. Many I don't know show up at the ex raids i've done. Just look for others standing awkwardly with their phones out haha.

You're right, there were three people there and one said the Discord group was arriving in a couple minutes...ended up having 16 people. I ended up catching him with three balls. The others were not amused. Haha.

We have somebody in our slack group that got a 100% Mewtwo. And another player who got a 100% Mew a few days after the research task was revealed. I envy them both. Though I did get a 96% Mew which is pretty good.

 

That is pretty crazy. Especially the Mew.

I was kind of surprised they didn't make all of the legendaries 100% and limit everyone to only having one of each to follow the actual series. But I guess they needed to incentivize the players to do multiple raids.

 

Damn, 12 balls, no MewTwo. Fuck.

 

We got a guy who got a 100% Mewtwo the other day. Of course it was the same guy who got 3 100% Rayquazas in the same morning...

 

Yeah some people have all the luck. I felt pretty good having 6 100% Pokemon. Then somebody tells me they have 68 and I feel like quitting.

 

I'm currently sitting with 9 100% IV Pokemon (some are pretty usable, some are garbage):

1. Charizard
2. Machamp
3. Gyarados
4. Rhydon
5. Magcargo
6. Butterfree
7. Wailord
8. Xatu
9. Glalie

Charizard, Machamp, Gyarados, and Rhydon are all pretty great. The rest, not so much

 

With so much 100% Pokemon I'm tempted to say he used a map where he could spot 100% IVs. Or he's just incredibly lucky.

 

The top 3 are maxed out. Charizard is almost there.

 

That 100% Dragonite is pretty sexy.

 

Dragonite is my one and only 100%, (3172 CP). He's kind of special because he came from the very first Dratini I ever caught back when the game first came out.

Makes me wonder if I possibly transferred a perfect Pokemon back before I knew what IVs were or before they had the appraisal system.

 

This is how I feel about my Charizard. He is from the first Charmander I caught in the wild (excluding my starter from when I first started the game).

 

Got a 100% Ponyta from a quest. My 4th 100%.

 

i've never really concerned myself too much with IVs, mostly because when you do a big raid, chances are high IV or low IV if you have enough people you'll take it down regardless, but i also don't typically get too involved with putting pokemon in gyms, as the ones by me get knocked around and changed around so often i barely ever even get a good amount of coins from them. a guy i know that plays is obsessed with IVs though. like obbsseesseedddd.

I don't care that much about IVs when it's a useless Pokemon. When it's one that can be useful, I'll try to get one that is at least 80% before evolving. I just think it's cool when I find a 100% IV Pokemon even if it's a Pidgey.

 

Not going to lie, it's rather difficult to help out when I only found out this promotion was a thing at noon when I had work...

 

That's basically how I am. It's kind of another rare thing to collect (like shinies), but it can actually be useful for the strongest ones. I'm not going to hold out on evolving anything, but if there's an event with a thousand Charmanders, you might as well evolve the best one.

 

Right now the only available Pokemon I'm missing outside of regionals are Ludicolo and Unown. I feel like I went through Gen 3 way too fast.

 

I mostly only keep Pokémon that have an 80% IV or better. I do “collect” 100% IV’s regardless of whether they are useful or not. Honestly, I probably value High IV’s over high CP. I’ll put the dust into something with low CP but high IV’s.
