It's officially confirmed in-game that Charmander is the next community day! I can bet you that it's the first community day I will not find a shiny just because I really want it! (Except for Pikachu, but I didn't know there were so much shinies so I didn't really try)

 

yep, this one is gonna net me the least miles of any of them because i will be stopping for every. single. Charmander. time to hoard pinaps.

Really was hoping this Kanto event would be over when I got off work. It’s not

 

The only thing that's gonna be a bummer is catching 3 Charmanders for field research is a lot more tricky than catching 3 Mareep.

 

Trying to catch any of the starters makes me furious within seconds and then even more so after they flee after fifteen great balls and berries so the charmander event should make me super hostile

 

Holy shit I have a moltres. As someone who can never do raids I can’t tell you how good it feels

 

Wish I could find some ghosts.

 

for the Bulbasaur day, they cranked up the catch rate, so Charmander day should also be less infuriating

 

the Latios fatigue is real. i'm 7 deep and only 1 is decent. calling it a day on them.

also Latios/Latias are my least fav legendary designs. it's like they licensed them out to Fisher Price or something.

 

I was in downtown Atlanta for work the last couple days and it was kind of a bust for this game, but I did manage to get over the Ditto hurdle.

My first EX raid is on Sunday. I could really use some tips on battling Mewtwo and also on escaping my girlfriend in the middle of the day so she doesn't know I'm ditching her to play Pokémon.

It really all depends on what the Mewtwo knows.

If it knows anything but Focus Blast then go with your dark types: Tyranitar and anything that knows Bite/Crunch. If it does know Focus Blast then go with your Ghost types.

Hopefully you have enough people show up for your Mewtwo raid that it doesn't really matter. The last one I attended we had around 14 people in my group, so I only went through 3 'mons before we defeated it.

That's good news since I just got a Tyranitar during the last event. My Gyarados also knows Bite so I'll probably use him regardless. I'm hoping a lot of people show up since it's on a Sunday afternoon. I feel like that's prime time for not having anything better to do.

 

Just remembered I have a Mewtwo raid on Sunday. Not sure if I'll go, but probably will because I will have nothing better to do.

 

Research results confirmed. That was quick.

 

In Montreal for the weekend. Feel like I should be able to get Mr. Mime here. Nonsense haha

Finally caught another gastly. Turned into ditto

 

finally got my Ditto today lol. Still need 3 more ghosts

 

I currently have 2 different EX Raid passes. 1 for tomorrow and 1 for next Sunday.

 

Can't find a ditto for shit. If I don't find it today, I never will.

 

With me it’s the damn ghosts. Before I was on this tier I saw ghosts everywhere. Even before the Kanto event. Now I never see a ghost until today and it was a damn ditto

 

Didn’t realize until today that Ditto’s can be disguised as Gulpin. Ignored several Gulpins while I was out earlier and now I’m thinking about what might have been...

 

I caught about 60 Pidgeys and then my Ditto ended up being the first Sentret I decided to go after. So you never know. Haha.

Had a weird moment today where I hatched a Tyrogue... I could have sworn I had 30 or so candies before I hatched it but it said I only had 23 candies and couldn't evolve him? I was confused but figured I just misremembered. A few hours later, I checked my Pokedex and saw I had a Hitmontop (the last Mon I needed), but I still had the 23 candies? First time I've ever experienced an error like that.

 

It's hard to tell what to recommend since the gym maps are down and you are going in blind. Usually, you can figure out what the charged move is based on what your Dex recommends when you go into a lobby. Then you get your 2 minutes to pick your team. Overall, TTar's with bite/crunch work good across the board. Gengar and other ghost types with Shadow Ball are useful only against Focus Blast. Otherwise, they will get wiped quickly. Your Gengar also has to be above level 22-23 in order to survive long enough to make worthwhile damage. Houdour with dual dark moves will also be good, but only if they're boosted high too. Other across the board choices that work are high CP Dragonites with dual Dragon moves, or Scizor with dual bug moves and also boosted above a certain level.
