That's actually good news considering the only one I've gotten so far is <80%.

It was the first one for everyone. I think they are gonna rotate the rewards monthly or something.

 

the speculation is that field research will have rotating themes, and that this first period is fire. would make sense give quests like "Evolve 5 Fire Types" (only type-based 'evolve' quest), Ponyta and Houndour being rewards for seemingly unrelated tasks, etc. i'd imagine we'll get electric or ice whenever the next period begins.

 

Ahh, ok. Well that’s probably a good thing as I can have a chance to power up what I already got last week.

Sounds like they really are trying to cater more to solo players who don’t raid.

 

I'm loving this double candy/gen 1 event, even though my gen 1 dex is basically done. Double candy is just so satisfying. Halved buddy distance is nice too. I'm cranking out my Magikarp candies from that.

 

Thank god. haha. A lot of the problem is that a lot of players can't do group raids depending on the size of their town. Mine is big enough to have an active player base, but people don't really coordinate raids (from what I've seen from the Facebook group) beyond the first couple of days that a new legendary is available. So if you miss it, you're kind of out of luck. I can't imagine how you would play if you live in some rural town with a population of 200.

 

With the Kanto event I feel like we're 1 year and a half ago.

 

Down to the airport hoping for a random Corsola spawn.

 

Gonna try to knock out this 10 raid thing on my lunch break today. Hopefully I can catch one with at least 30 mins left.

 

I haven’t found a Ditto ever since the Kanto event started and I need one for my special research mission.

 

I really just need to bite the bullet and do the two raids and walk my buddy for five candies tonight so I can move on to the tier with the ghosts. I want to do that part before the Kanto event ends because Gastly are around like every time I open the app. Otherwise, everything else will be a breeze apart from Ditto.

 

My OCD loves the fact that I just happened to get my field research synced up with my 7 day stop and 7 day catch bonuses. Thursdays are a big XP day for me in that sense and then I also get a Legendary. Thursdays are just a good day for this game for me lol.

 

Had a 2352cp 82% Charizard spawn at my apt last night, then 2 Charmeleons after. I've seen a lot of second evolutions, and had some great returns on research. Not a single shiny for this event though so far.

 

I’ve been sitting on a Machop at 999 CP for a year. Finally evolved it all the way up today and got this bad boy.

 

I have this funny feeling that they are getting close to phasing gen 1 pretty much completely out for the release of gen 4 sometime within the next couple of months. I'm really mostly saying this because I'm seeing some of the Pokemon that it took me around a year to find fairly regularly the past couple of days. Caught a Hitmonlee, Machoke, and Lickitung all this morning. Those were ones that I didn't get until I had played the game for close to a year. It's just a feeling I'm having, but I've actually been making sure to catch as much gen 1 stuff as I can just in case.

 

ymmv, but 3 of my 4 Dittos have come from Gastly

 

I wondered how they would address this problem back when Gen 2 came out. There are only so many spawns that can happen before the rare Pokemon are diluted even more than they already are.

I feel like they are taking pity on people like me with this event, yet somehow, I still cannot get a hold of an Aerodactyl. Keep hatching 10ks but no luck. I even went to several parks yesterday after work looking for a raid and no luck there either.

 

I don't know what level you are, but I was able to solo an Aerodactyl fairly easily (I'm a level 37 to give you an idea).

 

last week i had no Gyarados to my name. i now have two and 240 candies lol

 

This Gen I event is making daily research nearly impossible for me now. Find 3 Swablu? Haven't seen one since the event started. Find 3 dark type? Same. Find 3 Pidgey or Murkrow? Pidgey are more rare for me now than the starters. All I see now are Ponyta and Machop, over and over again.

I might just be salty since I've been stuck trying to find a Ditto for four days now...

 

just making sure, but you know you can trash any individual task at will, right? unless Pokestops/tasks are limited in your area, which would def make it rough

 

Yep, I've been trashing a bunch actually. Some just get automatically trashed (like the spin new pokestops one). I kept the Pidgey one since I'm already looking for them hoping it will be a Ditto; I've had that one for two days now.

 

Yeah, it's sad, but the thing that I was most excited about this event when I first heard about it was collecting as many Pidgeys as I can for Mass evolve to level up and of course I haven't even seen one since the even started.

 

I'll be at level 30 here shortly and I have a fair amount of fully-powered guys that are a good counter to Aerodactyl BUT...my problem is that I somehow cannot even find an Aerodactyl raid to try on my own.

Like yesterday I went to a park with about 10 gyms, not a single raid was taking place. Went downtown where there are about 20 in a small area, two Latios raids and one Charmander. It was odd.
