Not to hurt the feelings of @DerekIsAGooner but it was pretty easy for my group haha. I caught on first ball, not even with a great nice or excellent. We beat it with 6 people, plenty of time to spare, everyone else caught him as well.

 

0-2 on latios.

 

caught it on my 2nd throw, took it down with 10 ppl in about 30 seconds. nice and easy lol

 

Maybe I just need better conditions. I was out in the direct sunlight, so maybe I couldn't see my phone screen that well? Or maybe I just rushed my throws too quickly. Oh well. It'll happen soon enough.

 

i mean it's also RNG, god knows i did awful with Lugia despite landing 90% "great" curve throws

 

no Latios attempts yet, but my boss is out all week so it's a matter of time because i can step away whenever. very excited to see how many 10km eggs i can hatch on community day.

what's everyones strategy gonna be with that? i think i'm just gonna use regular incubators, the 1/3 that the super incubators shave off feels wasted as tempting as it is.

 

Just got a 96% Magikarp in a quest encounter, I guess I know which one I'll be evolving for Mew.

 

There's a guy who was catching Mew, then Mew fled because he had an egg hatching. It still counted as a catch, but I would have a heart attack if it happened to me! Nasty bug haha

 

apparently Mew is a once-per-account thing, but there is a shiny mew, so what if you get the blue mew and can never get the regular one? seems weird.

edit: unless the shiny reports are fake/doctored images.

 

I feel like eventually, you are going to be able to get more than one Mew. Maybe they make him one of the EX raids later down the line, but it doesn't make much sense, in my opinion, that they wouldn't give you an opportunity to get both versions of him at least.

I think the assets are in the code for shiny Mew, but I don't think anyone has got it yet. There will probably be a way to get more Mew later. I'd be fine with only having one though. I always thought it was stupid to be able to get as many legendaries as you can. Maybe be able to catch more, but you have to decide which one you keep. You would also get to keep one shiny and one normal.

 

I kind of like the fact that you can only get one Mew. It's a throwback to the handheld games when you could only get one legendary. The difference though is that you can't continually soft reset your iPhone app until you get a shiny.

 

Just have to hit 10 raids this evening (will probably use the fail technique) and then Mew is mine. Catching 50 pokemon with a berry should be very easy.

Also caught one of the first Latios raids to show up in town yesterday and got it first ball. It's very ugly.

 

Ditto hunting currently....

 

I remember Niantic saying they would never want to make mew a raid boss, simply because mew is not a violent pokemon by nature and would never actively fight another pokemon (as the original movie confirmed) so they've been struggling with a special way to release it, which I guess they finally got with this research quest.

How they would make more Mew available down the line one can only guess, but I wouldnt be surprised if it was a one and done 100% catch rate everyone just gets one kind of deal.

 

Maybe they'll just do a "shiny Mew" quest later.

 

Just used the losing technique on a Magikarp raid. Losing to Magikarp was the most humiliating moment of my life. On the other hand, beating the hell out of it right after was oddly satisfying.

 

Wouldnt be shocked if they got wise to that loophole and created a limit on how many times you can attempt a raid within its hour

 

Or just make it so it counts as one raid when you use the pass instead of when you fight. That way it stops people from getting 10 points by using one pass. It does bring the problem of people not doing the raid and just putting the pass in the raid as they drive by the gym.

 

Yessss just caught Latios on my first raid.

 

Yeah but knowing how Niantic operates it’ll probably take them months to fix it

 

Complete dex is now 371 for those keeping track.

 

I'm at 355 total, 149/98/108

 

I'm only at 169. I stopped playing for a while though, and just picked it back up this last month
