Shiny Murkrow has been released. It's a purple shiny, so if you encounter it it'll be pretty obvious.

 

Only Pokemon I'm missing except regionals are Ludicolo, Slaking, Salamence and Unown. Oh and Mew.

 

should have Mew this week. incredibly lucky to have 397 Magikarp candies lol. of course it decided to be shitty out all week though -_-

 

I should get it this week too, depending how much time it takes me to find a Ditto.

 

fun fact: i caught my first ever one yesterday in the middle of nowhere. i also took a year+ break from the game so that skews my chances a fair bit, but reddit seems to think the chances have been boosted significantly since the research went live

 

I hope so because I haven't caught one in over a year.

 

Really digging the research thing. It's gotten me back into catching things instead of opening the app, not seeing anything new, and closing it again. This is one of the things I wish they would have had years ago, honestly.

 

Latios & Latias are next for legendary raids starting today

"The Legendary Pokémon Latias will appear in Raid Battles across Europe and Asia, while Latios will appear in North America, South America, and Africa. On May 8, the Eon Pokémon will switch locations and will be available until June 5, so all Trainers will have the opportunity to catch both powerful Pokémon."

Latios and Latias have a lot of weaknesses due to the Psychic/Dragon typing, but their move sets and base stats look like they won't be easy to take down.

 

Let's do thisssss, a month seems like a long time until they swap/leave though

I just used up so much Stardust powering up my Scizor in preparation of battling Latios.

 

have a ton of raid passes built up and was getting impatient with clearing the 3rd step of research, burned one on a level 4 raid and bailed after a couple of hits to see if it counted towards "fighting in a raid battle". it didn't. idk if failing one/time up counts but you def need to complete it.

 

Yeah a fail counts as one raid battle. Most people just found a low level raid and failed it repeatedly so they only used 1 raid pass to do the 10 raids objective.

one of the hardest things to actually complete so far i've found is the field research where you have to "spin 5 new pokestops". as someone whos been playing since day 1, all stops anywhere remotely near where I live and frequent (bars, the mall, main street, etc.) are already spun.

I had to drive two towns over to find a random park to get a few new stops.

 

I think when I get that one I'll just put it in the trash.

 

on 4/8 for Mythical discovery, definitely will get to 5 today!

 

for what it's worth, the encounters you get for the "new stop" quests are pretty weak. def skippable, seems to only be Ponyta

 

(or Houndour ) I've done two of the "spin new stops" research. Houndour and Ponyta. Also had to skip to a new town. Will be trashing most of those. I have however, gotten a 91% Magikarp, 97% Onyx, a Bulbasaur and a Grimer from encounters. Pretty cool. Sitting at 5/8 for Mew because I can't find a stupid Ditto even though i've caught 20 before.

 

I'm only at 3/8, but that's because I didn't have time to raid today.

is Mew the prize in the box at the end of the 7 days of badges or is that something different?

 

different, and unknown as to what exactly yet. Most likely is a legendary encounter of sorts, but not mythical like Mew

 

Latios is not fun to catch. It moves very quickly and frequently. I did terribly on my first attempt.
