I have essentially written off Kyogre raids. No matter how good my throws are, I am not even getting two shakes most of the time. I am 2 for 12, one of which is a 69% IV and that's pitiful. The lowest i've ever seen a raid boss.

On top of that, every time I have gone to catch one the CP has been terrible. Some people in the slack group look up the CP's for good ones and I haven't had anything good minus 1 I caught and another that ran. It pissed me off quite honestly. Today I did one in the morning and the CP came out to be 2236. My 69% one was 2244 so it would be even lower than that. I'm not buying raid passes to receive shit Pokemon anymore. It's burning up all my revives and the catch rate is just too low.

 

Holy hell, this. I went through like 14 Pokémon before we took him down.

 

Yeah Waterfall + Blizzard is absurdly strong.

 

I did think the rewards for the raid were way better than I remember. Got one of each tm, 3 rare candies, and like 7 golden razz I think, along with some potions and revives. I wonder if it’s because I haven’t raided in so long though.

Also love the weather boosted effect on these level 5 raids. Not having to power them up from level 20 is a major blessing. The Kyogre I just caught is now my sixth highest CP without having to power him up at all.

 

Surprisingly, and probably by the miracle of a glitch I didn't notice, the other (non crappy) Kyogre I got was the only one I did during a weather boost for it.

 

Just caught my second Kyogre, 2/2. Same exact CP too aka a beast. Forgot how addicting raiding can be. I used to show up stoned to raids too which was never a good idea lmao, standing around outside with people I don’t know just staring at my phone.

 

I am generally blazed when playing this game on my days off. Brings it to a new level haha.

 

Haha for sure! I find that I’m a lot more patient with my allotment of balls at raids when I’m sober though

 

I have one specific friend who still plays with me and if we hadn't both awkwardly at work figured out we both play, we probably would've stopped altogether. Now we'll smoke and go travel to Albany where crazy amounts of raids and spawns happen and it's usually a fun time.

 

That’s awesome! I wish I had a friend that played it like me. Gonna try to get my girlfriend to get into it when she gets an iPhone next week.

I got like 11 rare candies from a raid the other day. I was really surprised

 

Someone in my raid group got 15 rare candies today.. pretty nuts. And I’m 4/6 on Kyogre, feels good to be back raiding again. I wish I hadn’t missed Groudon though, didn’t know he was so useful.

 

I need to do some more Kyogre raids since the only one I caught is only 69%

My Kyogre is a 92%. I’m pretty happy about it.

 

I really don’t know anything about generation. Is the evolution of Baltoy any good at all? I just hatched a 97% Baltoy earlier and I’m trying to figure out if I have any reason to be excited about it or not.

 

Eh, it's evolution is nothing special really.

At level 37 you’re only half way to level 40.

The game should just be called Pokémon: Go Grind

 

Yeah the last levels are just way too long to pass.

 

I just think about all the time and money (yes I’ve spent a decent amount of money, unfortunately) that I’ve put into this game and it just astounds me how quickly people got to level 40.

 

I keep one of everything and try to just keep the best IV’s. Pretty much anything over 82% is pretty good.

It’s funny you say this now, I was just looking on Reddit to see if anyone had a good method for keeping their Pokémon count low enough where they don’t have to mass delete every day. Like for instance, my Pokémon space caps at 1000 from me buying upgrades, and I’m almost always at like 800 Pokémon. And I go through and delete certain Pokémon but then like right now, I have 700+ Pidgey candies and only like 20 Pidgey’s since the weather update made them less common, which I didn’t foresee. Then like there’s some Pokémon that exceed 1000 or even 2000 CP with really good IV’s that I never use. Like, 400 Pokémon down the list sorting by CP and I’m at a 1329 Hitmonlee which I just have no use for at all, but can’t bring myself to delete it. But it’s just taking up space, you know?

Idk, there’s a lot of factors to consider. IV’s are my main priority but I’m just coming to terms with the fact that I might want to rethink that a bit. A lot of Reddit threads have shown that IV’s are not necessarily the be all end all, and do not account for a whole hell of a lot of difference. But I still really focus on getting high IV’s for everything. I can’t seem to get past it. I just need to rethink the way I approach it I think.
