i'm guessing custom names for pokemon that you put in a gym dont show to other players?

whenever i view my pokemon in a gym it shows their custom name, but everyone else's has the generic name.

 

I'm not giving Niantic any more money until I go a week with no issues and the three step bug gets fixed, but I'm totally throwing $10 at Pokevision.

 

I've used the nicknames a few times and it's worked every time.

 

What happens when you regularly evolve an Eevee anyway? Does it randomly choose one of the 3, or do you get the corresponding one to your team choice or something? I'm find out in a min anyway 'cause I'm going out with the sole purpose to find that 1 Eevee candy I need to see for myself!

 

I think it's just random. I didn't use the name trick (because it wasn't known yet) and I somehow got all three without any repeats.

 

Consistently out of Pokeballs but no way am I giving this game any real money if I can't even open it 80% of the time.

 

When you click on the gym and it shows the Pokémon? I'm pretty sure it always shows low CP to high as you slide through the opponents by swiping. I've never seen this not be the case. If you've seen it occur differently it may have been a glitch because it's for sure supposed to happen that way.

 

The AP chooses for you the Pokémon that has the best chance to beat the opposing Pokémon based on type as well as CP. For example, if you're going against a gym with all water Pokémon and you have a 1234 Gyarados, it'll still choose a 1050 Jolteon for you because electric has a distinct advantage over water critters.

 

I did the same thing for a Psyduck. Prolly not gonna trust that again, haha.

EDIT: There was a Snorlax in my neighbourhood. Drove around looking for him but couldn't find him

 

I'm sure gen 1 will still be there. You'll just run into more Pokémon.

Your name will show up on the gym. There was a Pokémon trainer who took over the gym near Westboro Baptist Church with a Clefairy named "LoveIsLove."

 

interesting. everyone around here is just boring, then.

 

Pretty much haahahaha. I've definitely seen nicknames on gyms from time to time. But, mostly I think people are just too lazy to rename their Pokémon.

 

Everything I've seen indicates that you are not able to see nicknames set by other trainers in gyms.

Best Pokemon Go day for me yet. Caught the first 3, hatched the rest! Stoked to FINALLY have Geodude and Growlithe!

 

I need to see proof. The articles i've read state the exact opposite.

Had a pikachu silhouette as the closest thing to me for 15 minutes. All the while the game kept spawning yellow Drowzees so I thought I finally found it every time. Then my bus came. Sad afternoon for this guy.

Then I found out that my brother caught a Taurus inside the damn house.....

 

whats the debate here? does YOUR name show up on the gym? or if you change the pokemon's name does it show it? I think there's some confusion.
