Also, me and a friend have been battling the gyms together, but there's a glitch where after we clear it and one of us puts a Pokémon in, it won't let the other because it says the gym is "under attack." Hard resets aren't working either. Anyone else experience this?

 

Reddit said the other person will have to go to another gym first and then come back.

Also seeing more diversity already. Love it.

Fuck. Looks like I'm going to have to grind it out for the raids. Currently sitting at a 34.

 

So, you can only collect coins once a Pokémon has been kicked out?

 

Sounds like level 35 and above is for a 2 week beta test, then everyone will get them

It takes 3,000,000 XP total to get from level 1 to 32.
It takes 3,000,000 XP total to get to level 32 to 35.

I'll be there in another year!

 

Yeah I won't be level 35 until 2043.

 

Yeah I'm 28 despite having a pokedex of 233. I never really do anything that gets me to level up

 

I went out for a last walk to make sure my three gyms were good for the night. As soon as I sit back on my couch I see theyare being taken down. Boooooooo

 

This last XP/F&I event got me to level 30. Max Revives are a nice touch considering how useful potions and what not are now. I distinctly recall how difficult it was to collect pokeballs, now its vice versa. This game loves a love/hate relationship.

 

Oh, did I mention I was at 96 candies with Dragonair and I hatched a Dratini? -_-

 

Loving these new gyms tbh, even though I haven't even bothered to fight one yet! I've seen more diversity in one day that I have over the past 6 months in my area - someone had a damn Hitmonlee in one gym!
Also got to level 32 this morning & god damn were the rewards shitty - like, 10 ultra balls & 10 max revives or some bull. Give me a damn incubator ffs!

Woke up this morning.. see a little notification "Your Dragonite needs some attention" or whatever. Drive over to the gym and feed it the rest of my berries and its little motivation heart is just a little over half full. Lame. On the plus side I got 17 coins just from the other gyms I got wiped out of so hopefully I get a decent amount with the one gym I'm still in. I think the way to go here is to just focus on a few gyms at a time that you know you pass by frequently so you can keep the motivation up.

Also lol I have 241 Growlithe candies and no Arcanine. Need better IV's!!

 

Do you literally get ONE coin for having a pokemon in a gym for 1 hour. If that is the case then they need to make things easier (i.e. drop the prices of stuff in the store) for those who do not spend money on this game to obtain things like incubators - needing 150 coins to get an incubator would mean 150 hours of pokes in gyms, no? Even in my rural area that would take MONTHS.

 

It seems like there is more to it than this. My guess is that every hour that you have at least one Pokémon in a gym, the app checks to see how many Pokémon you have in a gym and awards you a coin per Pokémon. The stronger the gym the more coins per hour you receive.

 

If you click on your portrait you can see a list of your gym badges and it tells you exactly how long you have been defending for and your pokemons health. It tracks it to the second and you get 1 coin per hour.

 

ffs, someone put a fucking Kangaskhan in a gym and I saw it and now my pokedex is uneven and I am in a sour mood and I'm also sour about the fact i'm in a sour mood over something so meaningless and they better do some sort of Safari Zone event where I can get a Kangaskhan/Tauros/all regionals

If only they would get really in depth about Pokemon placement, it would be great if they put all of the regionals in real life zoos. haha.

The new gym/raids thing seems like a lot of fun, I'm glad people are enjoying it. I don't think I'll be able to participate all that much unfortunately...considering I hardly even go out of my way to hit a gym once, let alone keep visiting my Pokemon that are already there. haha.

 

Haha! I'm the opposite. I saw a kangaskhan on top of a gym so I went to click on it but the game crashed. When I turned it back on the gym had changed teams. Mad that I did t get the pokedex entry. Been waiting for Kanga a long time!

 

Hmmm gyms seems way too hard to take down now. It takes so many battles just to knock out one Pokemon.

 

I'm impressed you haven't seen any of them until now. I have all but one regional sighted in my Pokedex.
