Oh duh, I forgot I've seen a decent amount of those. I often forget what types certain Pokemon are.

Also also, caught my first Skarmory this morning in the wild.

 

I've had a ton of Shelders appear during the ice event. That being said, the fire 'mons have outnumbered the ice 'mons 2 to 1.

 

Mainly shellder for me. Enough swinub to have enough to evolve one after never seeing any. But shellder was like ratatta for me during this event

 

Update is live on iOS

 

Charmander just broke out of 15 ultra balls with 15 nanab berries. Brb going to go blow up Niantic's servers

 

Does it going live on the update mean we can stick pokes in gyms again?

 

Still says that gyms are under construction for me (but the graphic for them has updated).

It's supposed to be 105 outside today so theres no way I'm making it to a gym first lol

Edit: Also noticed that they added a new stop nearby and the Sprint store near me is now a gym instead of a stop.

 

Yeah since the gyms went "under construction," 4 different pokestops in the main part of my town turned into the grey blocks awaiting the update. Pretty awesome. This update is going to actually make the gyms so much more purposeful, legendary pokemon are close, and actually having duplicates and different pokemon will finally matter.

 

I can't interact with the gyms yet, and it's telling me in the raid tab that it is not available yet for my level. Anyone have access to the new features in here?

 

Gyms aren't live for me. Raids won't be live for weeks.

 

Just caught a wild Lapras while lying in bed - 1711cp caught with 1 berry and 1 ultra ball. The only ice pokemon I've caught this event lol.

 

I just caught 3 straight cyndaquil with one regular poke ball and no berries each. Then wasted 4 pinaps and 7 berries plus 11 ultra balls on a charmander that fled

 

"Well, it was only a matter of time before Pokémon GO started bringing its gyms back online for its grand rework update, but it appears the moment is nigh, about a day after the gyms went down. But what’s seems to be the case is that Niantic is also rolling out raids, with no qualifiers about whether or not they’re rolling out in select cites like they originally said.

Here are the patch notes listed for the update currently rolling out for Apple and Android devices (mine has not kicked in on iOS quite yet):

• Gym features significantly updated to add the all-new motivation system.
• Added new Gym Badge feature.
• Added in-app and push notification system for Gyms.
• Added Raid Battles, a new cooperative gameplay experience.
• Added four new items available only by completing Raid Battles.
• Added Raids tab to Nearby screen.
• Added search functionality to Pokémon collection screen.
• Added visual indicator to unvisited PokéStops.

This is in line with everything laid out in the update announcement yesterday, but again, the implication was that raids would be rolling out in the coming weeks after the gym rework launched, and at first only in select places. These notes seem to indicate it’s all being rolled out together, but we’ll have to see for certain what’s going on when the game itself updates, which hasn’t happened quite yet, but should be any minute, judging by what we’re seeing here."

Got a Typhlosion today. That was nice.

 

It's been impossible to log in to this app today so I pretty much wasted an entire lunch hour walking around hoping it would open. But when the view is this good it doesn't really matter - I guess you boners are thousands of miles in the distance out there!!!



Edit: Ok this pic came out way worse than I thought, but that is the Atlantic and the view is fucking awesome. Further round to the right you can see Wales on a clear day which is 20-25 miles away. Now you guys know why I have about 1800 magikarp candies!

 

The update is being forced now so gyms could be live today.

Apparently my phone no longer finds GPS signal at work as of this week so I can't play here anymore. Such a shame because I sit on top of a gym.... that's horse shit.

 

I believe I read gyms are going to be down until early July. Hopefully that's incorrect, though.
