I have caught enough to have accumulated 500 candies since the event started with no shiny yet. I have also tapped on quite a few and ran away when they were normal.

I know shinies are supposed to be rare (I have hatched more than13,000 eggs on my Sun game hunting for them), but this is getting disheartening. Magikarp are fairly rare around me outside this event, so this is pretty much my only chance.

 

I'm sure somewhere down the line there will be a shiny event

 

Kind of curious as to where everyone is at in the game to get some comparisons... I've been playing since day 1.

- Need 19 More to complete Gen 2
- Currently at level 31
- About 79,000 XP away from level 32
- Waiting to evolve around 80 pokemon with lucky egg to put me at 32
- Have all evolution items needed to evolve from Gen 1

- 7 Pokemon sitting in gyms collecting coins for the past two weeks
- Chansey is my buddy (the valentine's day event that I didn't spend too much time on is of course the one I regret the most because of the amount of Chansey and Porygon candy I need to evolve them)

I know this is a lot, just kind of wanted to lay it all out for myself. I really wish I would have been paying attention to IV ratings from the beginning. I was more focused on just evolving the ones that had the highest CP. I really am looking forward to whenever we get a "legendary event" and when they add pvp to the game.

There was a month or so where I would barely open the app, but now that they released gen 2 and are having events fairly regularly it has gotten me back into the game. I've been able to get by with only spending 20ish dollars on the game so that has been nice.

I'm starting to learn how important the gyms are for free coins and easy stardust.

I think my OCD is going to really hurt me with this game because I am going to need to gather all of the unown variations and try everything to get the shiny karp to get the red Gyrados. I was lucky enough to find a ton of santa and party hat Pickachus during those events.

I think at this point my main goal is to finish out the gen 2 dex before the year anniversary and to just grind in hopes of eventually getting to a level 40 (not sure if that will ever happen, but we will see).

I have everything except regionals, Unown, Ampharos, Togetec, Politoed and Slowking

 

Level 27, have everything available from Gen 1 besides Hitmonchan, Aerodactyl, and Dragonite (33 candies away).

No intention of doing Gen 2 but I've managed to still sweep up 49 of them.

 

All I need is Tyrogue and Scizor.

 

That was a long post. I saw a Sunkern silhouette today. That's a pretty good indication of where I'm at. Been playing since day 1.

 

Been playing since day 1. Level 27. Need Muk (15 more candies), Gyarados (12 more candies), and Dragonite (50+ more candy). Still need more than half of gen 2

 

My personal goal that I set for myself was to complete the Gen 1 that I can reasonably get. Just need to walk 20 more Bulbasaur candies to achieve that. Tangela and Dragonite don't exist in my mind.

 

Been playing since July, completed Gen.1 but need a lot for Gen.2 still. I am Level 30 but not interested in progressing levels atm, just hatching as many eggs as I can and searching for a 90% IV female Eevee to evolve into an Espeon (the coolest gen.2 pokemon FYI). Top 10 currently:

1) Alakazam 2400cp w/ confusion & dazzling gleam
2) Gyarados 2356cp w/ bite & dragon pulse (ughh)
3) Snorlax 2342cp w/ zen headbutt & bodyslam (apparently a 'legacy' moveset that you can't get anymore!)
4) Gengar 2270cp w/ shadow claw & shadow ball (a wild catch i made within the first 3 weeks with 90+ IV!)
5) Dragonite 2252cp w/ steel wing & dragon pulse (ughh)
6) Vaporeon 2217cp w/ water gun & hydro pump
7) Flareon 2133cp w/ ember & heat wave
8) Jolteon 2118cp w/ thunder shock & thunder

10) Charizard 1885cp w/ wing attack and fire blast (bad IVs though, was a wild catch!)

Then Lapras, Golem, Umbreon, Blissey, Donphan & Blastoise round out my cool ones. Will be making my Espeon No.1 though!

 

Well now. Just got home and I see a Bayleef and a Lapras. Both ran from me after one raspberry and ultra ball. Fuck this game.

 

Y'all got me inspired to sit down and figure out where I'm at. Basically, behind all of y'all.

Finally got enough for Gyarados. But now I want to hold out in case I ever come across a shiny magikarp.

 

Event gave me enough for Slowking and Politoed but only one King's Rock atm...who to evolve?

 

both evolutions suck ass imo but Slowking is my preference. Politoed is awful...

 

I forgot Politoed was even a thing and used my King's Rock on my Slowpoke the other day. Oh well.

 

My Slowking is kind of a boss. Not quite sure how it ended up with a fire move, though.

My Slowbro is Water Gun/Water Pulse, so when my Slowking was Water Gun/Fire Blast I did a double take.

almost at 1000 Magikarp candies. Would trade oh, I don't know, 600 of them for a good IV shiny Magikarp tho

 

I'm holding out for any shiny. Just got to 400. Would take another of this event to get enough for another

 

I thought I caught a shit ton but I'm still like 200 candies away. Oh well, don't have a shiny anyways.
