I would prob still need Charizard if I hadn't caught a random one during the starters event. IMO though, if you can walk to evolving the pokemon you need then I wouldn't give up playing, but I know how frustrating it is walking loads of eggs hoping for 1 specific hatch and never getting it. But then you DO get it, so IDK...

The fact that Yanma, Koffing, Dunsparce and Missdrievous are ultra rare hatches is an outrage though..

 

Dunsparce "ultra rare"? LMAO, I've ignored two wild ones today, and 6-7 total this week alone! Awful pokemon...

 

Lickitung shouldn't be ultra rare either imo since I racked up during that event. I guess it varies depending on where you're at though.

 

Didn't the starter Pokémon event help get there? I thought it highly unlikely, but I played throughout the whole week and wound up with Venusaur, Charizard, and two more Blastoise.

 

I think it's rarity in hatching, not in rarity in encountering in the wild.

During the starter event, besides a wild Blastoise, I maybe saw one or two starters a day max. Didn't help me at all, really.

 

Yeah, my gripe was that they shouldn't be an ultra rare hatch as they are so common in the wild (Mantine too IMPO). Interesting chart though - Mareep is not on the ultra rare tier; seemingly not what everyone seems to think!

 

Really?! I was genuinely surprised at how often I was finding the starters in my area, being that not a crazy amount of people are still playing locally and/or there isn't a huge amount of stops/gyms. Evolved my Charmeoleon on the last day. Easily my most accomplished feeling I got from this game.

 

Hating Dunsparce is so uncool

 

Yeah. It was crazy. I was down at my grandparents in Florida and would go for walks every day (a two mile each way, fifteen Pokestops or so along the way and back) and yeah. Caught a lot of Magnemite and Voltorbs, which I also needed, but yeah. It was brutal. I'd been excited for starters and barely saw any.

 

The starter event was such a letdown for me

 

I saw one bulbasaur during the event. A ton of charmander though. Even saw a Charizard that I purposely didnt catch because it felt like cheating after walking my charmander so far.

 

It probably wouldn't have felt like cheating if you had unsuccessfully attempted to catch it 30+ times using berries, ultra balls and great balls before it inevitably ran away.

Still bitter about that Blastoise

 

Oh noooo. The rarest thing I found in the wild was a 2000+ Lapras that I caught in one throw lol.

Like I said, I've been walking mine last crazy but I'm still 36 candies away (so close yet so far away!). He's my only walkable Gen 1 unless I happened to hatch a couple of Tyrogues and I could try getting to Hitmonchan. Lapras and Aerodactyl are my only other two though...I might not ever get those.

 

I encountered a wild Charizard that week. It ran and I was hurting until I was able to evolve my Charmeleon a few days later. CP was under 1000 and my evolved one is at 1900+ so I feel like I still won. Two Charizards would've been awesome.

 

Hey, you never know bro! I had given up on getting an Aerodactyl myself until I hatched one. I have a slight theory when it comes to rare hatches - I only ever got the rarest of the rare ones - Lapras/Aerodactyl/Scyther/Chansey after they were 'seen' in my pokedex. Might be coincidence, but all were hatched as literally the next 10km egg I got after I had seen them in a gym, all four. So I'd see if i could find an Aerodactyl and Lapras in a gym if you haven't already!

Answers your Dratini question. Dratini is now in the most common egg hatching tier. And apparently when you pick up an egg it predetermines your pokemon, not the type of egg. Meaning picking up a 10K with Dratini is just as likely as picking up a Nidoran or some other trash.

Among my hatches today: Lickitung (already had a million but they are rare hatches?), Tyrogue (awesome), and a Squirtle that has higher CP than my Blastoise.

 

And I just caught a Mareep

 

I want an Ampharos so badly, more than I want anything from Gen 2. Alas... Mareep are so hard to find.
