Now have all 3 of the Gen 2 starters full evolved. But only the Feraligatr came out strong, Meganium came out ok, and Typlosion pretty weak.

 

Never see this generations starters. Then again I never saw 1st gen either until the event. I some how have 2 Cyndaquil and luckily I used the berry that gives extra candy

 

I have 6 ready to evolve when I get the item
I have 3 middle evolutions that I could evolve, but am waiting in case I catch one
I have 10 more to catch/evolve normally

Other than regionals, that's all of them. So I'm 19 away from completing my dex again

 

I caught a Togetic 2 days ago yet I can't manage to hatch a Togepi, or any baby pokemon for that matter

 

I finally got enough candies to evolve Kabuto into Kabutops, which leaves only Omastar for the Gen 1 dex (obtainable pokemon). I need 47 candies to evolve it, so it will take quite a while.

 

Wtf I've never even seen any of them.

 

NYC is a grand place. It literally has everything. Except the regionals. But hopefully will be getting them this weekend.

So, I'm assuming with the way that Niantic has said trading is going to work it is official that the only two ways to get the regional exclusives is to either travel to the place or GPS spoof? That kind of makes me sad because I can't bring myself to spoof and I know that there is not chance I'll be going to Australia, Europe, or Asia anytime soon.

 

I don't expect it to happen, but I'm pretty much holding out for some regional event where they could be attainable through eggs or something. Without that, the idea of trading for or spoofing to get them really doesn't entice me much.

 

I like the idea of trading, but only because one of my best friends travels for work and collected Mr Mime and Farfetch'd for me, if trading eventually happens

 

I sometimes feel compelled for the regional exclusives for the sake of the pokedex, but then I'd probably just end up spoofing for everything damn silhouettes haha

Yeah I get that, maybe I'd think differently if I knew someone who traveled internationally and played this lol

I just struggle with the idea of regional exclusives in the first place. How does that help the game? Why take away content that give players more Pokémon to hunt? Is there anyone who is actually like "I want the other regional exclusives but I also like that people in Australia can't have a Mr. Mime"

 

I feel like trading is going to be awesome but will also greatly expedite the process of finishing the dex, which is...meh.

Well travelers,

Right at the end of John Hanke's session, he dropped some good news bombs on us!

First off, we were happy to hear he referred to the launch of Gen 2 as the "first major update" to Pokemon GO. Thereby classifying all the other updates as smaller, non-major additions. Most travelers on the Road feel the same way, so it's good to see Niantic recognized how Gen 2 and the new mechanics that came with it were a big deal for the game.

More excitingly, however, he mentioned that there are 3 major updates planned for the game this year. We're on week 9 of this year. There are 43 more weeks, which means if these updates were to be spaced out equally, we'd see a "major update" every 12-14 weeks.

Our hunch, based on prior statements, is that these will include PvP and potentially a gym system improvement/overhaul. Our sources tell us Trading is not top priority right now (thankfully) as other issues are taking precedence.

We're beyond excited to see where this game goes over the next year. Can't wait to explore it all with you. Settle in for the long haul. We've got a lot to look forward to, travelers.

 

How the hell I just hatched back to back Dratini 10km eggs, after 8 months of hatching Magmar after Magmar, I'll never know.

 

I just got 3 10ks so far today. Would be completely happy hatching Dratinis (fingers crossed for a Lapras)

 

I just caught a Caterpie on the first wobble and I'm 90% sure there was no lag. It was almost instant.

Yes! And then I used like 15 balls on a 1600 cp sudowoodo

 

Thanks to a nearby gym, I now have Mr. Mime as "seen" in my Pokedex. I can now never legitimately have an equal number of caught/seen unless they have some event where the regional Pokemon are available elsewhere. This bothers me greatly.

 

I've seen Kangaskhan the same way at a gym in an airport. It's annoying. But my number has always been skewed in double digits.

 

Funny I've read from some people on reddit, that if they hear about a regional being at a Gym nearby that they'd rush over there just to get the shadow in their dex haha.

 

Yeah I scroll through gyms trying to update my "seen".

Also caught a Chikorita after my complaining earlier hehe.
