Absolutely loving the game. Love living in San Francisco and playing it. It makes holding gyms nigh on impossible but the sheer variety of Pokémon makes it worth it. There is a restaurant down the street from my house across the street from the beach that constantly has 4 lures going with 200+ people out front playing. The large amount of players using data on the game mean there's constant Pokémon there for building up XP and Stardust. My Pokédex is at 114 right now.

Wait, so how do you get stardust?

You get 100 Stardust for every Pokémon caught. I think that's pretty much the only way to get it.

Ahh, okay. I think someone said you can collect it from gyms that you have a Pokémon at too.

That's probably true. It's pretty impossible to hold a gym for 21 hours here though so I can't confirm that.

You don't have to hold the gym. You can only get the rewards once a day. You just have to be on one.

You get 100 for every pokemon and 500 for every gym defended per day.

"Being on" and "holding" a gym are the same thing, at least as I'm referring to it.

you can literally take a gym and activate the rewards within a second of each other. You don't have to wait 21 hours.

The rewards multiply though if you collect while you "hold" multiple gyms simultaneously. That's the push and pull of it all.

Don't know how I missed a thread on this game. Liking it when I play (which isn't too often honestly). I'm level 13 and still havent picked a team yet so I havent experienced all the fun of the gym.

Can I get the bag upgrade a second time? I just never want to worry about no pokeballs.

Well I work 6AM to 3PM Monday to Friday so I can pretty much get off and Pokehunt for 5-6 hours every day. Also, living in San Francisco, there is a distinct advantage. There are huge swaths of people playing the game at several locations in the City, including near my home and work so I can make it out there on my lunches and in my free time to get some extra time in. Also, my bus route to work has probably 50 Pokestops so I never run out of balls. But ya, I am pretty obsessed and absolutely loving the game. I'm going on a bike ride to the Golden Gate Bridge after work because word is there's a Bulbasaur nest there.

I only need one more to get an Ivysaur! But if it makes you feel any better, Charmander was my starter choice, and I haven't seen a single other one. Closest I caught was seeing a Charmeleon silhouette ONCE.

Okay, thanks. I just read that the max storage for items and pokemon is 1k, so you could get the upgrade 13 times. I don't bother with the Pokemon upgrade since we transfer the duds anyways.

had the app open during my run this morning with a 2k egg incubated. it took 5 miles for it to hatch. i'm guessing the app doesn't count distance if you are moving during your pokemon encounters? either that or my gps sucks, cause at ~8mph i definitely think it should catch that distance. infuriating, really.

oh yeah, the egg was a gd ratata

When you hatch eggs you get a decent amount too, that's why I've been focusing on the 2k eggs, so I can power up my Aerodactyle and Hypno
