yeah i fucking hate this game so hard but i still play it.

 

I've hatched 475 eggs on this game and at the absolute lowest end estimation, 400 of those have been 5km eggs. I cannot have had more that 20 10km eggs either. Personally, I don't think that is good enough considering that the random nature of the eggs means on the rare occasion you do get a 10k, it's more than likely you will get a duplicate (or a fucking EEVEE until they changed it).

That being said, the only improvement/suggestion I can offer is a paid service to discard of unwanted eggs - pay 150 coins to get rid of an egg, thus they will not lose the "incubator money" (as that is exactly what an incubator costs).

Exactly. I've kept track of my 10ks and out of 225 eggs, I've gotten 14... Exactly two of those were things that I needed (a Hitmonlee and a much-needed Dratini). Everything else has been Eevee/Jynx/Scyther/Pinsir.

I get it. They are supposed to be rare. But WHY are you only given so few of them if they are all just shit anyway?

 

I've gotten way more than 10 10k eggs, probably around 30-40 honestly

 

I'm too stubborn to give this game up without finishing Gen 1 but I can't say it's "fun" by any means haha. Like my city will be completely devoid of things like Machops but then will open up a nest where you finish them out in a day... How is that fun? I want to go out and catch Dratini. Not go four months without catching one and then sit around waiting until I can get 16 in one day.

It's taking forever to complete the Dex but I think that's how it should be. No one should be able to catch them all in a few months. It was disgusting seeing Dragonites in every gym a few weeks after launch. I wish it was more realistic in that it actually takes a damn year or more to get a Dragonite.

 

Realistically, how many people do we think are going to be downloading the app starting the game from the beginning now? An overwhelming majority of currently active players already have all the commons & their evolves, so why cant Niantic reward people's continuing involvement in their game by just SLIGHTLY increasing spawn rates for rarer pokemon. People like me outright ignore anything that is common these days - how is that a good way for people to be playing a game?

 

But the problem is there's nothing to do in the mean time besides walk with your phone in your pocket, and they saw to it firsthand that your music app gets trampled by this app.

Again, there's nothing fun about opening your phone day after day, seeing Venonats, then turning it back off... Neither is a nest opening up and giving you enough of one thing to evolve something in a day. I'm not asking for it to be easier, I'm just wishing the mechanics worked differently so that you couldn't get stuck like this. It's not "hard", it's just not fun.

 

this game doesnt even work me since these gift boxes, it gets stuck trying to load the map when i first turn it on.

 

Can't tell if someone is using a bot or if they just have too much time on their hands (or both), but I saw three empty gyms on my lunch break just now... Weird.

 

Just hatched a Lapras and I'm upset about it. Never thought I'd say that.

 

The parking lot near work that is supposedly a Dragonite spawn definitely pops out some crazy stuff, although I haven't had much luck.

It's like three cluster spawn points within 50 feet. You enter the lot and there's an explosion of about 30 Pokémon...just nothing I really need yet.

 

I guess that's just odds then. If every spawn has a 0.001% (or whatever it is) to spawn a Dragonite and there's 30 spawns in that place then I guess eventually something good is going to show.

 

Yeah, that's what I equated it to, as well. The only odd part though is a girl who lives at that spot is a frequent player/poster to the local Facebook group. She screenshots them and shows that she sees them there at least twice a week (and that's just when she is home).

Strangely, nothing else of relevance really spawns there, apparently, so it's not just odds. I go there hoping to grab a Geodude, Grimer, or Dratini at least but nothing yet.

Important to note, I just ran through to figure this out, this is how Gen 1 evolved into Gen 2 in original games:

gloom - sun stone
golbat - friendship
poliwrath - kings rock
slowpoke - kings rock
onyx - metal coat
chancey - friendship
seadra - dragon scale
scyther - metal coat
eevee - sun shard and moon shard
porygon2 - upgrade

so the potential item additions will aid in everything except the porygon2 and the eevees, I would guess that "friendship" could be related to having them as your buddy. We'll see!!!

 

Oh great, they've fixed the GPS drift!!! "But Niantic has put the breaks on such a mini hack, despite the fact that the step tracking in general is pretty flawed and inaccurate". Typical that they'd rather take away a totally minor thing that conveniences people ever so slightly rather that fix the things that hold back dedicated players every time they open the fucking app...

 

I updated this morning and the GPS is all kinds of fucked up - constant "GPS not available" notices and my avatar just sits in place a lot of the time even when I'm moving. That said, it did seem like it was adding distance to my buddy quicker.

 

oh darn, I hope that doesn't affect how I can rack up distance at work. Still need 34 dratini candy

 

It pisses me off just for the sole fact that the distance tracking doesn't work correctly anyway. The other day, I got three Geodude candy (3k worth) before my 2k egg would hatch (how the fuck...) Seems like they only fix the broken things if it's helping players.

 

The other day I was waiting on 5km for 2 eggs for a while - to pass the time I thought I'd look through my pokemon and discard a few lame ones & found a weakass Paras & Horsea that I didn't remember catching, so got rid of them. Then, when it came to the egg hatching around 1.5km later, the app froze before the hatching sequence could finish - turns out the weak paras & horsea where what was hatching from those eggs but they were in my pokemon list before I'd hatched the damn things?!
So, next time it feels like an egg is taking forever to hatch, check your pokemon list/journal just incase!
