Oh for sure. On some level, I'm glad it's not exactly like the Halloween event because all of the Pokemon basically disappeared other than ghosts and a couple of others.

But I do wish that these starters spawned in place of birds and rats. And I'm ok that they basically spawn at the rate of Santachu.

I'm a rural player so I'm sure it's not as much of a disappointment in cities.

And I don't want to sound like I'm complaining. I'm more disappointed in myself that I took the gift boxes full of great and ultra balls as a sign to get ready for tons of starter spawns. Oh well.

Not that they've been all over by any means, but I've tried opening the app in a handful of places and already saw second stage evelotions for each starter. All of mine that I've caught so far have been in the middle of cluster spawns, so maybe you just need to drive somewhere you know will have something at least?

I'm just glad people aren't catching Charizards left and right haha

 

Been catching plenty of starters, they are so difficult to catch though. I always end up using 5+ great balls. Might have to just buy one of these special deals for the great balls.

 

Finally seeing the starters. Squirtles and charmanders but I still have a long way to go. I don't think I've had one break out yet. Still need some bulbasaurs

 

And of course the first bulbasaur I see breaks out and runs.

 

Just used about 7 ultra balls and 30 great balls on a Blastoise and it broke out of all of them and then ran..

Yeah haha. It seems like it's actually a lot easier to just catch a whole bunch of Squirtles and evolve a Blastoise rather than just catching one in the wild.

 

I caught my way to Venusaur, walked my way to Charizard, and caught a wild Blastoise. He's the only one I want to actually evolve so that maybe I can get a better one.

 

I've hatched probably 8 eggs since the event started, all junk and no gen 2, but I did catch a wild Charizard outside my friends house today so I'm good

 

I hatched 11 eggs today in an 8 hour shift at work. Craziness thanks to the Apple Watch. 3 of them were Pichus and the rest were trash though

 

Needed 30 candies for a Venusaur before I left the house today and got all 30 within 1 evening. Need just Charizard, Aerodactyl and Chansey to complete the original dex.

So I finally start seeing starters spawning, and I encounter two Charmeleons. Both were so annoyingly difficult I burned through my entire stash of raspberries and half my ultra's. One ran and the other kicked out of an "excellent" throw with an ultra so I told him to go fuck himself.

 

This local Facebook group has had several people posting about catching Dragonites at this same apartment building in town. Like five people in the last week. Maybe I should swing by today...

 

Yeah I had a similarly huge battle with an Ivysaur yesterday in which I burned through many ultras + razz berries, probably the most difficult pokemon I've ever encountered.

 

Caught 4 charmanders yesterday. One ball each. You guys must suck at throwing! Just one candy away from the iconic charizard. Never thought it would happen.

 

I've had more starters run than be caught since the event started.

Hatched two 2Ks today and both were Magikarp. Ugh.

I hatched my 4th Pinsir today. Still no Pichu or Togepi. It's almost laughable at this point. I did catch a lot of starters though in Charlotte! Got my second Venusaur and almost to my second Blastoise.

This game is just infinitely more fun in a large city.

Just hatched another 10k and it was a Magby. Seems like the game is giving me all the babies instead of the starters and the original 151 I need.

 

Heard there was an Omanyte "nest" in town (I've never caught one) so I drove across town to go to it and found nothing. Sad day. Seems like there's a few an hour, but I guess I timed it wrong.
