Oh great I'm getting my wisdom teeth out and will be drugged up for half the starters event.

Absolutely this. I really hope it's mostly just Squirtle, Bulba, and Charmander...

Pokemon Go just gave me a notification about it so maybe that means it started?

EDIT: just 5 pidgeys on the tracker so maybe not.

 

One thing that is going to be significantly different about the starters than that Halloween event is that they are way harder to catch. They break out of the balls the majority of the time, so you won't exactly be able to sweep up every single one you come across (at least without using a handful of Pokeballs on them). It could be a struggle unless you are well stocked.

 

Got about 100 Great balls so I'm good there.

For a couple days now there have been charmander at a park 50yards from my property, yet I've been so lazy I couldn't even be assed to go and get one lol. They've been popping up so frequently though (2 days before the new event at least) that it MAY be a nest?!

Finally stumbled upon another Porygon! Just Dragonite and Hitmonchan left to go of the originals.

bulba just spawned near my office, starting? maybe? hopefully lol

 

It's definitely not the same spawn rates as stuff during the Halloween event if it has started...

 

Yeah still haven't seen any of the first three. Tons of other stuff, just not those.

Oh common guys I went out for like 20 minutes and didn't see anything. Froze to death in the process.

 

I got a Squirtle and Bulbasaur right after work, and as I suspected, I used 20 Pokeballs.

 

Finally a good 10KM

Caught a CP61 Ivysaur. Yessss.

 

And got my Charizard! Very eventful day, sitting at 140 on the dex.

 

This event sucks. It's nowhere near the spawn rates for Halloween.

They never said it would be. God, I swear people are determined to constantly find something to complain about with this game.

 

I mean if they make it TOO easy, isn't that unfair to the people who grinded their way to Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise?
