friend told me about it yesterday.

 

Have tons of incubators going right now, but after that, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this game anymore. I'm two candies from Dugtrio and nine from an Arcanine. Aside from those, I'm like 50 candies away from anything else and that's for stuff I never ever see. I'm about 6 away from a Charmeleon, but why even bother.

Looks like I'm about maxed out at 106/106.

 

I got a blastoise, nothing looking likely unless I get a lot of dratinis suddenly or egg luck.

 

I'm playing this game until I complete the dex, no quitting!
Won't be utilising the dumb buddy system though - I'm still 25km from a Raichu & I bet I'll catch/hatch everything else I'll need before I get there, then catch a wild Raichu at 24km or something...

 

i want a machamp so bad. i'm still need 40 candies. walked my machoke 25 km so far.

 

not sure if anyone has ever brought this up but FUCK 10K EEVEES

my friend texted me the other day that she got one and I wrote back verbatium "I don't want to laugh at you because i fear karma will do the same to me." Later the same day it happened to me....

 

I saw a SUPER tiny Drowse yesterday and had the same experience. Game shut down and had to reboot.

2 Blastoises and a Chansey expired about two minutes before I could get there tonight :+(

 

Hit up my usual bike route that I hadn't done in 2ish weeks. For some reason like 75% less Pokémon. (Also when I hatched my eevee). Really discouraging.

Though I'm camping this weekend, so I'm hoping being in the mountains will reveal variety.

 

Got another 10k, there are four options that will make me highly upset.

 

I had this happen with my trail route as well. One park used to be a Growlithe nest and had a Magnemite spawn point (two things I do not find anywhere else), but now it's basically nothing. Just a normal Eevee, Pidgey, Rattata, etc. spot. Walmarts here in town actually were like the best spots to find a cluster of Pokemon, but now they are pretty desolate as well. Can't tell if it's coincidence or what.

Also, I think some of it has to do with the fact that I've upped my Pokedex now so I don't bother catching 90% of what I see and it makes it appear as though there's nothing out there.

 

My office used to spawn birds/rats/bugs/eevees every hour but not anymore either

 

Also another strange similarity to you...I used to be able to open the app and maybe catch something every few hours....now my GPS signal won't register at my desk anymore. Weird.

 

Today is a good day. Evolved a Clefable and caught a Likitung... only 5 left!!!

 

Can someone please explain appraisal to me?

I have two abras with the exact same attacks and HP, and yet the one with lower CP is getting "overall your Pokemon is a wonder, I see it's best attribute is defense" while the higher one is just like "Meh, it won't get far in battle, I see it's best attribute is attack".

Where does Defense derive from? They have the exact same HP and Attack so I don't get it.

 

Each pokemon has IVs (individual values) for attack, defence, stamina. The appraiser basically tells you how good your pokemon's IVs are. I'm not on the same team as you but I think the "it's a wonder" means that your pokemon has 80+% perfect IVs. Once that pokemon with better IVs is powered up to the same CP as a pokemon with lesser IVs it is actually stronger. That's my understanding of it anyways. Im sure someone else can explain it better.

What I just don't understand is how people calculate Defense when calculating IVs. I see equations out there, but idk where the hell someone's getting an initial defense stat to run through the formula. Just don't get it lol. I know the appraiser tells you which stat is better now, but I saw people mentioning defense before the appraisal system, and it's not like the game has a number to calculate against?

 

I'm going to see August Burns Red tonight and could easily take a really cheap Uber/Lyft, but since it's only a little over a mile, I'm going to just walk it so I can walk my Magnemite.

 

It has a lot to do with where along the semicircle the meter is. For example, a Pokémon with the same HP as another but a lower CP has a higher ceiling. Same with if they have the exact same CP but the meter is halfway on one and 3/4 on another. The one that's only halfway has a higher CP potential and therefore is considered a stronger Pokémon. How defense is calculated, though, I'm not exactly sure; however, I think it might have to do with the combination of CP and HP.

 

Seems like they really wiped my city clean of anything that's not the occasional Rattata or Sandshrew.

I had TWO 10km eggs going at once this morning! One has now hatched & gave me my first Pinsir! also hatched a Ponyta and a Likitung from 5km eggs so I have had a good egg-related morning
