I went to Red Bank Battlefield Park in New Jersey yesterday. It was a ton of fun and caught some new Pokémon. I still don't have a Lapras and apparently they're everywhere there. Bummer.

This weekend I had 3 silhouettes of Pokemon in the closest spot, and none of them actually appeared.

 

Holy balls. Team Instinct took over the town overnight. I saw 8 Instinct gyms on my way to work this morning, 3 of which were level 10. I was lucky to put one in a level 10 gym today. There has been a level 10 Instinct gym in my town that hasn't been taken since August ended.

 

Still walking 5km...."not working for anything".

Maybe I'm just used to how real Pokémon games work and I can evolve a Pokémon in a couple days to a week opposed to a couple months.

 

Being mad at the walking system, who are you to decide what is fair and not in the game? I think that walking the equivalent of a 10k egg can garner you anywhere from 2-5 candies depending on the pokemon. And unlike eggs, it's not random, you choose exactly what candy to get. 5k for one candy is far from a joke, because you get to pick the candy. It's way better than hatching 50+ 5k eggs just for the chance of a grimer, when you can walk your grimer instead.

 

I mean the candies are entirely free compared to what we got before so I don't see the issue.

 

The eggs are bullshit anyways. I mean, they picked something you're supposed to sit on to hatch and make you walk for it!

 

I picture Jerry Seinfeld saying this.

"You take something that walks after it hatches, and make it walk before! I mean, what's the deal?"

 

Since when have people not been able to say they dislike a feature in a game? I don't like that you only get 1 candy for walking 5km. Get over it. Not everyone has to enjoy the feature or use it.

You can discuss a game without being overly positive 100% of the time. I don't see the point in me pretending to enjoy a feature.

 

How many people have evolved their Magikarp? I'm finally at 370 candies and will most likely have a Gyarados at the end of the week due to a nearby lake having a few Magikarp a day.

 

Still way back on 330 magikarp candies, hoping for more 'karp in an egg or two soon. Also walking 5km for one candy is something I will literally never do. I only chose Pikachu as a buddy because it was the least distance I had to do. I'd literally have to walk 500km to get a Dragonite; Nope. On the flip side, I'd also have to walk 85km for a Golem; also nope.

It is literally better to wait for egg hatches for any pokemon you are more than 10 candies away from evolving. That's what the system is for; getting those last few candies you need - I get that. But for someone like me who, personally, is many candies away from getting the pokes i want/need, it isn't as helpful a system as it maybe is for some of you guys.

Yeah, um, 73 Magikarp candies... I would just have to get insanely lucky and catch a Gyrados.

 

I'm at about 200. Getting there.

 

Read somewhere Ditto was suspected to be a South America exclusive.

Did not believe it for a second but a man can dream.

 

I'm at 192 candies. Nowhere close yet but it'll happen.

 

I walked a Pokemon from 3 candies to 25 candies, which is what it needed to evolve it, in a week in a half. It only required 3km for 1 candy. I have never seen this Pokemon in the wild or gotten it from an egg after months of playing this game. I'm so confused by the dislike for this.

 

Already used it to get like 12 candies for a Pikachu, but screw walking 3k for a single Charmander candy (I'm only at 14). I've closed out about everything that I'm close to besides a Graveler, so I'll probably at least roll with a Geodude for a while. Other than that, it's easier just to wait for eggs. I'm sooo far away from everything else except for Dugtrio.

 

I've been walking for Abra candies and it's been incredibly useful, considering how rare they are around here. Sure it takes a while, but it's a lot quicker than finding one or hoping an egg randomly hatches with an Abra.

 

I've walked my Koffing 32.6 km for a total of 10 candies, almost 11, which is almost the equivalent of catching 3 koffings... something that i have not done, hence walking is dope
