I also accidentally evolved a shitty geodude in my pocket..... I only had like 27 candies total in three months for it. All thrown away. That's 25 km to get back. I guess I'm settling for a pokedex entry on Golem. There needs to be an undo button.

 

Walked my Meowth 3 km and only got 1 candy. The buddy system is dead to me.

 

Because it did exactly what it's supposed to?

 

I'm walking a geodude because I've only ever seen like 3, and it's a candy per km

 

I was expecting to at least get 5 candies from the buddy system, especially since some pokemon require 5 km. Buddy system doesn't help much at all when you still need 20+ candies. 5 km for 1 candy....that's a joke. Almost as bad as getting an eevee from a 10km egg.

 

The buddy system is to get a handful of candies here and there to help level your Pokémon up. Or, in some exciting/rare cases, evolving something that had 47 out of 50.

The game would be broken if you had 22 Growlithe candies and had him evolved by the end of a weekend. What fun is that?

 

As much as of love it to be otherwise, the system is exactly how it should be.

 

I've noticed a steep drop in powerful Pokémon spawning since the implementation of the buddy system.

 

My city used to have quite a cool variety, with people scoping out the river for rare water types, and now it's all pretty much Rattata, weedle, pidgey, and the occasional Magikarp. Even Eevees have become less common- I just caught my first one in like 1-2 weeks.

 

Also, I agree with everyone saying the system works as it shoudl and it shouldn't be stupid easy.

However, I do wish you had the option to weaken wild Pokemon before catching and fighting 1v1 with friends. I know it's a completely different game, but sometimes I really wish it was like the gameboy games in certain aspects :P

 

Yeah, variety is down for me too. I have to go well out of my way to find rarer Pokémon. I also used to run into Pokémon that would generally be in the 300-600 CP range, and now I'm running into these same Pokémon who are down in the double digit to low hundreds in CP. It feels like there is some correlation between the buddy system and this fall off, but I can't be sure.

 

This is true. He's on my shoulder now. I was wondering when that happened and if it goes for any other Pokemon.

 

It's basically a QOL change but it'd be cool if they gave wild Pokemon different attack animations based on the attacks they have

hatched my first scyther today fuck ya. still no snorlax though...feel like im the only one that doesn't have one.

 

Checked in at my 35th pokestop since getting a poke egg today, currently no eggs to hatch...

 

I haven't seen an egg in about a week and a half. I haven't been able to play as much in that time but I've probably hit at least 20 stops in that time.

 

I finally ran across a Lapras out of nowhere, but it only had 300CP. Whatever. I have three Snorlaxes, all caught, no hatches. 10k eggs are always useless, but hoping the next one is an Aerodactyl.

 

I've stopped caring about eggs. Haven't had a good hatch in almost 2 months.

 

So they ever gonna add ditto or the legendary birds or what

 

I don't get the reason for ditto not being available, it's not like there's breeding going on or something like that.
