Something I thought about before, and confirmed today... hard to describe. Eggs you pick up ANYWHERE between the distance ping points will gain that distance.

For example... today I had an egg hatch, kept walking. The next time my app updated the distance, I had 0.3 more km than before. I got a new egg from a stop right before the update, literally seconds before, and when i incubated it, it got 0.3 km.

    That make sense?

Did some math. I can get 1.3 km from walking to the park near my office and back, takes about 20 min round trip so it's a nice little work break. I have koffing as my buddy right now and have 5/50 candy to evolve, meaning I need 45 more candies. 45 candy x 3 km = 135 km. 135 km / 1.3 = 103 more trips to the park~!!!!!!

    haha

In my collection of old Pokemon cards I came across, I found an Umbreon and realized I was familiar with more newer Pokemon than I thought. I look forward to evolving Eevee into an Umbreon.

Sorry to repeat this question, but who has a Gyrados in here? I want to know how someone else chose which Magikarp to evolve. This is a tough decision.

So if you've walked say 2.3km with your buddy that needs 3km for a candy, and you switch buddies, you lose all that progress? That seems pretty dumb.

  10. I have a Gyrados. At the time, I just evolved whichever Magikarp had the highest CP, which was around 147 for me (powered it up to like 160ish). Now, I'd check which Magikarp has the best IVs.

I think I played Gold/Silver as a kid, I didn't really remember until I looked at the second generation and recognized a lot of them

What reason is there to switch it?

To get candies for a different Pokemon...

Then why would it matter if you lose progress?

Well based on how they word the alert message, it seems like if you've walked 2km/3km for 1 candy with say a Bulbasaur, if you switch to a different buddy, you lose that 2km you've walked with it. So if you were to then switch back to that Bulbasaur you would have start again at 0km/3km. Seems flawed unless I'm missing something.

Just make sure to collect the candy before switching. Easy peasy.

Can anyone confirm that it's just one candy as the reward? And is it possible for your pokemon to "find a candy" randomly while walking?

It's possible to find 2 candies, but less common. That's all I know at this point

Put my Squirtle up there, I have 103 candy now, how far do I have to walk for a Blastoise if I don't catch anymore?

Made a Dratini I caught a while back my buddy since I don't live near big enough bodies of water to catch them. Just sucks it has pretty low CP tho

Just got screwed on a ton of stardust. Just went through my billion Eevees to find one with the best appraisal.

It would keep saying I would power it up like 20CP but then it would revert down like ten. Did it to me three times in a row.

The last time I took screenshots of it, and it wasn't quite as bad. Its CP was 472, then powered it up and it would have the green number say "+14" to 486CP. Then it only actually powered up to 483.

I have a super nerdy excel doc, I'll share it when I'm at my computer

    EDIT: here Pokemon Go

So basically, broke it down to how many of each I need to catch, and then I update the doc manually when I make any movement on the ones listed. For me, it's been quite helpful for me to know which are the most important to work on, or to have as buddy (Koffing)

also, I meant 69 more for North America, it's 78 for all 151

    I'm level 24 and pokedex at 131
