Hey I'd be happy with a Pinsir. Still never seen one. My four 10kms have been Omanyte, Onix, Scyther, Eevee. Have my 5th going now. Odds are I have to get something great finally right?!

 

I don't know, check with the dude who has (3) effing Snorlax. Maybe he'll give you a more optimistic answer.

 

Pinsir is basically pidgey in a rural area. At least it is here haha.

At this point, as long as ONE of those 4 cooking is Lapras, I won't be mad.

And yes, I hatched all 3 Snorlax.

 

Fucking right about the Pinsirs. I have 129 Pinsir candy haha.

Also, have 58 Scyther candy from a nest (which turned into a Jynx nest) and caught 145 Eevees.... Guess what I've gotten out of my 10k eggs? Two Pinirs, a Scyther, Eevee and Jynx.

My last one was FINALLY an Electabuzz. Such a relief. haha

 

Finally reached 100 pokemon in the dex after hatching a Grimer!!! I'm way happier than I should be

 

Just put a 10k in. It's going to be a few days but this is the one, I can feel it!

(It's probably gonna be a pinsir or something weak)

 

Curious...what's the move-set on that Poliwrath?

I have one with similar CP that has Bubble (25) & Submission (30).

 

It's super putrid but surprisingly strong against most things - Mud Shot (6) and Submission.

It takes out Vaporeons decently and Snorlax too surprisingly. I wish I had a water move with mine.

 

Mines at 1414CP, but he's got Bubble (25) and Hydro Pump (90). Haven't gotten to play much this last week so I haven't used him or my Venusaur in a gym yet. Venusaur's got a Solar Beam (120), so that's pretty exciting.

 

So apparently the buddy system rewards are as follows:
Pokemon from 2KM egg needs 1KM of walking to earn a reward. Except starters which require 2KM.
Pokemon from 5KM egg needs 2KM of walking to earn a reward.
Pokemon from 10KM egg needs 3KM of walking to earn a reward.

And I guess the reward isn't always/can include more than just candy.

Sounds ok. Still don't think I'm going to go out of my way to use it that much considering how far you actually have to walk to get 1K to register. I think this will mostly be a cool tool to utilize if you are 3 or so candies away from evolving something that you don't see too often, but no way am I walking my one Dratini 366km for a Dragonite.

 

I'm just going to buddy up the pokemon which are the hardest for me to find, starting with Grimer then probably Koffing, then Dratini after that.... etc etc

 

I'll focus on getting a blastoise, which won't take too long, then I guess I'll walk around the earth for a Charizard.

 

Yeah, I would have to walk 142 miles for a Charizard. I think I'll pass. haha.

The maximum number of individual pokemon I need to catch to complete the game is now 104. Certainly less if I a) catch an evolved version b) hatch what I need c) get extra candies hatching and d) using buddy system someday

 

Both of those sounds fantastic.

 

I finally used them today, and yep they actually took down Vaporeons with a higher CP.

 

How is it decided what the max cp for your level is for your pokemon? My vaporeon is at 1720cp and it says my level is too low to power up anymore, but I have seen much better vaporeon from people who are either at or lower level than me. Does it depend on what the cp of what you evolved it from was?

 

Will be choosing Pikachu as my buddy purely for the novelty of seeing him perched on my shoulder!!! Oh, and to get a Raichu I guess...

 

CP caps out sometimes until you level up as a trainer.

What boggles my mind is that i just Powered Up my Jolteon and its CP went up, but its HP did not. WTF is the point of Powering Up is nothing changes to HP??! Its not like the moves get upgraded in anyway with a Power Up. Gah! 4000 stardust down the drain.

 

Discovered a park on my way home that has seven Pokestops and two gyms in a little circle, and it's usually completely empty. Yesterday there were a bunch of kids playing there and a few pre-teen girls called me out for playing Pokemon. Then they yelled at me "You're cute!" and ran away. It was at that moment I decided a grown man wearing dress clothes and a tie has no business walking around a park playing Pokemon.
