I have a 10km egg I'm working on hatching now. I have had some bad luck with 10km so hoping for something good this time.

 

I got a Magmar from the only 10km egg I've had. I want a Snorlax the most for sure, or at least another 10km haha

 

I want a Snorlax so bad

 

Also hatched a Magmar today from what I think is my fourth 10k egg. Powered it up to 1497 and it's sitting at a gym right now. So sweet.

Few hours later I found another, much weaker one in the wild.

 

my Snorlax is my best pokemon, 1910cp. he's a tank that flattens most opponents in gym battles!

 

My best (non-Vaporeon) is a Slowbro at 1480 lol

 

Is it worth it to have a strong Butterfree or Beedrill?

Thinking of using Caterpies and Weedles for XP purposes like Pidgeys.

 

No. Unless you don't have any already, I would just use all the caterpies and weedles to grind for XP. Butterfrees and Beedrills are stupidly weak. I'm level 24 and haven't had a Butterfree or Beedrill grow strong enough to be of any use in gym battles. Evolved to get them early on for the pokedex entries and that's it.

 

Did you catch him at that or power him up?

 

I've seen some decently strong Beedrills and Butterfrees in the wild, so those are my strongest. Still Useless in gyms, but if they aren't worth any more XP for evolving then why waste your candy?

 

IV (Individual Values) are your Pokemon's hidden stats (attack, defense, stamina/HP) that determine how well they do in gym battles. Generally, you want to power up and/or evolve pokemon with high IVs, otherwise you're wasting stardust and candies on weaker Pokemon. CP is unrelated. For example, I have a CP 759 Growlithe, but it's IV range is 51-56%. I also have a CP 413 Growlithe, and its IV range is 93%. AFAIK, the attack moves you get when you evolve a pokemon are random regardless of IVs. If you don't care about battling, then you don't have to care about IVs.

I've evolved both lines 3 or 4 times but the strongest I've settled for are an 805cp Butterfree and a 780cp Beedrill.

 

I have a cp1041 beedrill, have mostly been ignoring weedles now since I don't really have use for them anymore

 

IV sounds super boring

 

Powered up, hatched him originally at around 1500cp. Never seen even a hint of a Snorlax since, so getting them in 10ks is your best bet!

 

Saw a Snorlax in my nearby, Pokemesh wasn't loading so I quickly and efficiently drove through each street in my neighborhood and found it. First time that's ever worked.

 

got a poliwrath via evolution today & it's total garbage. v. disappointed

 

um did they jack up flee/escape rates again? this morning was unbearable when i went out.

 

It seems to switch from day to day. Some days it is awful. Yesterday i didn't have issues in nyc.

 

Just biked on the beach for 3ish hours, got a pretty damn good haul... 1 Grimer, 2 Dratini, 2 Charmander, 2 Squirtle, 1 Wartortle, and a few other things that excited me but probably not anyone else (drowzee, oddish)

 

Oddish have become common in my area and I am more pumped about it than I probably should be. Lol

 

I almost neverrrr see them, but now I am 3 away from vileplume so I'm gettin antsy!

 

Every time I see an oddish or bellsprout they are only ever 500+ CP it's strange

 

I'm just missing Alakazam, Snorlax, and Muk now. I'm hoping to put some serious time in this week and complete my Pokédex.
