I turned AR off for the first time today and I find it so much harder to catch Pokemon this way. Seems like the dodge and attack the ball much more.

 

Right now in my inventory I have five Flareons, five Vaporeons, and six Jolteons. Never mind the three or so of each that I've transferred.

 

I only have the one flareon still, haven't seen an Eevee in a few weeks

 

Moving to just outside of Boston for grad school is the best thing to ever happen to me. On campus at Tufts is such a high concentration of pokestops, with so many pokemon that aren't weedles or pidgeys. As a good luck charm, I hatched a Dratini with 29 candy right in front of my chemistry building :')

 

Came to the beach in Corpus today and I'm surprised with the variety. Every block the sightings change with 4 or 5 different pokes from the block before. Nothing too rare but at least it's different. Also caught a CP 27 Pidgeot. Why does that even exist

 

If I lived at the beach, I'd have 7 or 8 Gyrados already. Just walking up and down the sand did this for about 90 mins.


I'm now at 299 Magikarp candy, and would have a Gyrados already if I was at the beach for more than just an afternoon.

Finally evolved this dude too:

108/108, and soooo close on Nidoqueen.

 

Still catching a few random things I need here and there at my house but not getting out to play too much otherwise. Caught a Bulbasaur, Abra, and Diglett in my driveway, but I'm crawling towards most of those.

Also, I spent so much time grinding trying to get my first Poliwrath which I evolved on Saturday, and I just caught one this morning. Ugh.

 

yesterday i evolved a seadra, kabutops and ninetails. it was a good day.

 

I've been having some bad luck, and to top it off, a few days ago my iPhone 6+ that i've had for two years had its antenna die. My phone is/was only working on wifi, so i've been out of the game for about a week now. Two days ago a friend of mine lent me their old iPhone 5 to use until next month when not only the new iPhone is out, but also when my contract is up (go figure). This app not only eats the battery supply within in an hour, but it is so laggy it was unbearable. Unfortunately looks like i'm gonna only be doing some catching sparingly until I have the iPhone 7.

 

Will hatch my third 10K today. The last one was an Onix so hoping the PokeGods redeem themselves.

Finally caught my first Koffing (619 cp) today on my lunch time walk down my town's main street. Randomly popped up with some pidgeys and weedles at a lured pokestop as I walked by. Still have yet to encounter a grimer though. Sitting pretty happy at level 21 with 92/92 for the time being which is soon to change next chance I get to use a lucky egg.

 

Level 24, still have not even seen a Drowzee or Hypno. Happy to have hit 100/100 on my Pokedex though.

 

finally caught a hitmonchan yesterday after having after not being able to find any at all, ended up hatching one couple hours later out of a 10k.

The nickname trick for Eevee doesn't work anymore, right?

Tried evolving my last couple Eevees into Vaporeon using Rainer and ended with another Flareon and Jolteon.

 

It's worked every time for me so far.

 

does everyone wait to evolve pokemon they dont have yet with their lucky egg? i dont have the patience. i only use lucky eggs to evolve pidgeys, etc.

 

I used to wait, but now I'm just so impatient that I just stockpile scrub pokemon like pidgeys and weedles to use with a Lucky Egg running.

At level 24 trainer, there's really only so much enjoyment you can get out of the game that filling up the pokedex becomes an immediate need to keep my interest.

 

I never have the patience but now I've accumulated quite a few so next time I go for a ride I'm evolving them + getting Pokestops and catching what I find all while using the lucky egg.

 

I wonder if it works in REVERSE. I tried to get a jolteon using the trick, after successfully getting one of each version already. Next eevee I will try and name Rainer or Pyro and hope it comes out a Jolteon. That's what I want. I am sick of Vapes. I want to beat all of them in every gym I come across. So overplayed at this point.

 

I think at that point and beyond I'll just try and own as many gyms possible.

 

im just about to hit 24 and the only reason im playing is to fill up the pokedex at this point. there's no other point really.

 

I did two mass evolves after saving up, then realized that I don't care what my level is, and actually wish I was a lower level, since higher level makes it harder to catch

 

Nothing wrong with this until you realize how futile it is...

I feel bad complaining because I do not have any real constructive suggestions to improve it at this point.

Maybe if they could make the gyms defendable by you...like if you were able to control your pokemon in the battle...that might make it more fun.

 

Hatched a Ponyta and doduo today, second doduo first Ponyta after my first rapidash, so I powered it up.

Just put my third 10k in, last two were Chansey and electabuzz. Really I want something new, but really anything but a Jynx.
