The poster has some easter egg-filled location names. 1) Unova Style Pizza (Unova is based on NY so that's neat) 2) LickiTung Post Office 3) Hound House 4) Joltik Electric 5) J. Puff Records 6) Machamp's Muscle Gym 7) Eevee Salon 8) Moo Moo Milk 9) Snap Camera Shop (a reference to Pokémon Snap) 10) Rare Candy If that amount of detail is throughout the entire film I'll be satisfied.
An 'R' (Rocket?) is on the front if you zoom in. I don't know if it could only be a coincidence that 'R' and 'M2' could be tags given their relationship in the franchise.
I’ve wanted a live action Pokémon movie my whole life and I thought what I wanted as classic retelling of Ash or a Pokémon trainers journey and when I first heard about this movie I was like, “seriously? We’ve been waiting 20 years for this and this is what we’re getting?” but this trailer has sold me so hard. Seems to have a really good balancing of tone too. The Pokémon themselves look realistic enough to work in a live action setting but still remain affable and retain their cartoony qualities. Really glad it’s not a dark and gritty Pokémon.
So glad it’s not dark and gritty. The tone of the trailer is one of the biggest selling points that it can work.
Okay, finally home from work and was able to watch. I’m all in based on the trailer. This looks like a blast.
I feel a little uncomfortable with Jigglypuff there. It looks kind of creepy lmao. It should be adorable, dammit!
I’m in. The trailer has me thinking of all sorts of ways the detective aspect can work, and they’re all exciting. Can’t wait
One of my biggest regrets in life is getting rid of my Pokémon card binder in 8th grade during a white elephant exchange. Not sure what was wrong with me
I kept mine under my bed at my parent's house in good condition and it's still there! The day I got my holographic Charizard (must have been back in 1999??), I put it in plastic so it should be worth something.
I remember the first time buying Pokémon cards. I begged my parents and got 3 packs. Charizard was in the last pack I opened. I nearly cried. Need to find it to see if it’s a first edition.
