Still listen to them semi-regularly. Versions is my favorite. Tear From The Red and You Come Before You are also great. Was a bit disappointed with The Tropic Riot.
I'd love a new album from these guys, but they're all busy with other projects and only playing a handful of shows here and there. drummer Chris Hornbrook is now in Senses Fail and Big Black Delta
Ranking them is difficult because I was tempted to just put "=" between each album haha. It is that close for me
honestly couldnt choose between versions or ycby. both are excellent. my fav song by them is the view from here tho
YCBY > Tear > December > Versions > Tropic Rot > I/III,II/III,III/III They were my first true love in terms of metalcore. They blew my mind open to bands that existed in anywhere but the radio/MTV/MTV2/Fuse. They peaked at YCBY for me but I appreciate the stuff that came after on an artistic level. They were always amazing live. I'm talking about them in the paste tense but they've been playing a decent amount of shows this year...curious what the future holds.
I grew up on Slice Paper Wrists, Artist Rendering, and Botchla. That combo ruled my freshman year of high school. lol. YCBY is probably my favorite just because the production was so slick compared to the older stuff. I liked the newer releases, but kinda grew out of the sound.
20 Year Anniversary Show - Opposite of December full album show plus more in January at the El Rey in Los Angeles. https://www.axs.com/events/387482/p...LO5TNTsHKSpKTw5T1XUS25KvN4DWIVGhsgvKPQ_OVTunI
Jesus fuck. Tickets for the Opposite of December show sold out in literal seconds. I was waiting right at 10:00am on AXS, and then my page changed to the show being sold out. Something smells fishy here. There are already a fuck ton of tickets on StubHub for $100-200. Live Nation got in trouble for buying its own tickets and re-selling them on secondary markets. Given the popularity of this show and how absurdly fast it sold out I wouldn't be surprised if AXS is doing the same here.
I can't stand this shit. It happened to me with the last Dillinger show. I ended up buying the tickets day of for half of the original price, so it worked out. lol
Yeah, that's basically going to be my strategy. I know that the closer the date of the show gets the more tickets will be available for a lower price.
You think things would have been different for them if they took the Ozzfest 2003 offer? Instead of doing warped tour? The heavy bands from that Ozzfest all blew up right after Killswitch, Shadows Fall and Chimaira. Wonder if things would have been different if PTW did that tour.
