Y'all should listen to this new Museum Mouth song because it's great and then tweet Karl and talk to him about 311. Museum Mouth Prove Unrequited Love Songs Are The Best Songs With "Lacquer"
I'm realizing a lot of the music I'm posting below has to do with some sensitive topics, so just a heads up! Kimya Dawson (folk & singer/songwriter -- she was in the Moldy Peaches, currently has a side project with Aesop Rock called The Uncluded) P.O.S (indie hip hop -- he is also in the rap collective Doomtree alongside Mike Mictlan and others, as well as the experimental group Marijuana Deathsquads, and he was in a punk band called Build Better Bombs)
Hey guys, I'm interviewing Mitski in a few days. If you wanna send any questions to me via messages or my email please dooooo.
Any thread that has Mary Lambert should also have Michelle Chamuel's work (she's her girlfriend). :) (indie)
The last time I saw Mary, she told this story about Michelle surprising her at a show. The lights went on her during "She Keeps Me Warm" so it was like she was singing right to Michelle. I ugly cried through that and this cute lesbian couple slow dancing with their daughter the entire song.
i feel this so much in ways i can't even articulate right now. i feel like when it comes to representation - especially how it's represented in the mainstream - people want to shove you into an either/or situation, which is harmful for those of us who are not cis, not male, and not white all at the same time. even this thread, going through has been....extremely white. which is not so much a critique of the recs, but more of a critique of who and what we're consuming at this moment.

Anybody here listen to Dyke Drama? They're releasing a new album in September, and I'm excited for it.
on this note, some of my fav nonbinary poc musicians foster carrots aye nako Shamir not on bandcamp Bulldog Eyes Try the Pie
Have always wanted to see them live but has always been bad timing with school. Also kind of makes me anxious to go to small shows like that alone. Heard there's a tour in August in the works though and definitely want to check it out. The split with Alyssa Kai is definitely my favorite thing from them
this band is seriously sick - kind of like Sonic Youth meets emo or something... guitars fucking rip EDIT: well maybe not emo... just kind Sonic Youth leaning heavily on punk/garage rock
