I hate to be this guy but it distracts me that the paraguayan man is a Colombian actor speaking with a 100% colombian accent. Paraguayans have a very distinct accent too. Why not make him Colombian in the show too? Lol

Maybe it's revealed later that he's a Colombian living in Paraguay. Anyway show is great so whatever.

I saw someone post the "drowning" clip and I guess that makes sense.

"if you saw someone drowning, you would throw a life preserver. No consensus. You just would."
    "so you think i'm drowning"
"...you just dont know it yet"

SEEMS A LITTLE DOUBLE STANDARD TO ME THOUGH.

    Thoughts:

So.... are they really taken over by aliens or just.... mutated?

They get a signal from outer space. They translate that into "make this stuff". They make the stuff, which all ingredients came from stuff that was already on earth(assumed). They touch the stuff and then transform. They spread the stuff all over the earth and everyone transforms.

So, they are just infected? Their thoughts are just twisted and then somehow, now, they have a collected conscience. An entity did not go into their body and take over the controls.

If there are "beings" light years away, then I assume they don't know that they were successful in causing earth to transform. If that was even their goal. If it was even "beings" all along and not a misread of the data or someone on earth at the bottom of it.

My theory is that this "virus" is made to cause mass extinction of intelligent races across as many planets as possible. They're hardcoded to not be able to do what needs to be done to eat and live more than 10 years. But, they have time to build a giant satellite to spread the signal to other planets that potentially have intelligent life.

    Just a theory though haha

I thought the signal was a virus and they were trying to make a vaccine for it but that actually infected them

Nah I don't think they were trying to make a vaccine. Scientists just wanted to see what the heck the formula in that signal could do because they're dumb

The fact that they are going to die in less than 10 years makes me question the “point” of the virus/alien being/whatever. Or, has this worked on other planets but earth just sucks ?

That's kinda why I came up with my theory I mentioned above. It doesn't seem like this virus is sustainable long-term for the infected to survive

I wish I was as into this show as y'all are. I thought this started out fantastic, but I've been pretty bummed by the last 3 or 4 episodes. Hoping for a strong finish.

I don't think it's close to as strong as Breaking Bad or BCS, but it's still a fun enough show.

I know it’s inevitable, but I don’t think it’s really fair to compare a show that has aired 6 episodes to a show like Breaking Bad that has completed its entire (incredible) character arc. Especially when Pluribus has to spend a lot of time asking/answering questions about the virus/the world. I’m sure more character-driven stuff is coming in the next few eps/next season.

I've loved every episode so far and I'm liking it way more than the first Better Call Saul season.

Prob will get flamed but first season of BCS is a snoozefest outside of the Tuco stuff and toll-booth Mike.

BB was critically acclaimed by episode 6 for sure. It hooks you pretty early and he's basically already shifted into Heisenberg by this point as well.

Yeah, I'll admit BCS did have a weak first season, but BrBa definitely did not

And I'm not saying Pluribus won't end up being just as good as those shows - I'm strictly talking about up to this point, I don't think it meets the same level of quality. I still love the show and am telling everyone I know about it lol

ill wait to pass judgment on the overall pacing 'til the end of the season when all the payoffs are in

I'm enjoying most of it tho. the poker scene was a little long

Though I'm really, really enjoying the show, this one thing nags at me. They're bending over backwards to get permission to assimilate the remaining 12 people, but didn't do the same for the first 7+ billion.

I thought they said the only reason they needed permission was because the procedure would be painful?

Finally caught up the two episodes, maybe y'all can help me with something

What exactly is the guy in Paraguay listening for? If anyone else is out there?
