I'm seeing them with Weezer tomorrow. Have dived into Surfer Rosa and Doolittle, love both of 'em, but have yet to dive into the other two. I'm listening to Head Carrier right now and it's alright, but "Baal's Back" sounds like an AC/DC song lol anyways, thought they deserved a thread here
I really like anything Frank Black Francis does. I got the complete Frank Black and the Catholics collection last year and he has written so many great indie rock songs. He is prolific with the likes of Ryan Adams and Robert Pollard, and one of Cobain’s favorites.
They sounded so good last night. I was a little worried about how Francis' vocals might have changed, but he was fine and the whole set was extremely high energy. Here's the setlist: Where Is My Mind? Nimrod's Song/The Holiday Song Vamos Wave of Mutilation All the Saints Here Comes Your Man Silver Snail Winterlong (Neil Young cover) Gouge Away Cactus I've Been Tired Isla de Encanta Caribou Mr. Grieves Gigantic Monkey Gone to Heaven Crackity Jones Hey Tame Something Against You Planet of Sound
Also I'm listening to Trompe Le Monde for the first time and it kind of sounds like a different band entirely. But I like it.
