Metro is a great venue and Varsity + Slow Mass are really good openers so that would be a fun show, and Sleeping Village is smaller and has a more intimate vibe. Just depends on what you’re in the mood for because both will be great. If you’re seeing one at the festival I’d see the other at the aftershow.
I was at Metro for that Death Cab show! I liked it. Hop Along is also playing Grand Rapids that Sunday, so really it’s a question of seeing them there and leaving Pitchfork after Angel Olsen or staying for the aftershow. Upon further thought I’ll just see Faye at the festival.
That makes it a bit easier as a game time decision. Especially since I have tickets to both Lucy shows.
How does this Bartees free show work? I registered and got a “ticket”, but it says that rsvp doesn’t guarantee entry.
Show up early enough and get in before it hits capacity, basically the same as the free shows they do on Mondays there
Vaccination required or negative covid test within 24 hours. Also masks are required all three days while inside Union Park except when eating or drinking.
Only going Friday as well. So now the question is: do I run back and forth from AnCo->Big Thief->Phoebe or do I just skip Big Thief to have a good spot for Phoebe since I'm seeing Big Thief again the next night Thinking I'll probably just have to be at the back for Phoebe
Those two stages are pretty easy to navigate back and forth from in the past. I’m def seeing big thief before Phoebe.
haha @DaydreamNation I will 100% likely be in a cardinals hat. I have a nasty red one from the 2013 WS I always wear so my friends can find me easier in a crowd.
Faye Webster and Waxahatchee at the same time is brutal lmao. I also wish there was more time between Big Thief and Phoebe but I’m cool not having an amazing spot for her since I can get close at the Detroit show earlier in the week.
My game plan is Dogleg > Dehd > Hop Along > Black Midi > Animal Collective > Phoebe She is the main reason I bought my ticket and really want to get as close as possible!
Yep! They are alternating stages with one facing West and one South. They basically share a big space. You'll just lose some sound quality if you go to deep on the Green side. Have a good time! Pitchfork is great, I think you'll really enjoy it
I have a ticket to the Oso Oso after show that I can't use anymore - face value, not trying to make a buck, just wanted to get back what I paid. Shoot me a message if you're interested!
