Can we talk about how amazing they are? One of my favorite bands of all time, and one of the most influential for me as well. My favorite album has to be Wish You Were Here and David Gilmour is my favorite guitar player ever

 

IMO, the greatest band of all time.

I'll have to check that out. Got my uncle tickets for one of Water's shows this past year and he said it was awesome.

 

I should probably branch beyond Dark Side and Wish You Were Here and The Wall at some point.

 

My favorites always been Animals.

Hah there's just so much out there. And I got to Floyd late. Didn't grow up on it.

What would you recommend outside those big 3? Meddle? Animals? Piper?

 

those three, yes, and the final cut

 

It's not popular among most Floyd fans, but I really enjoy Momentary Lapse and Division Bell. I also prefer Gilmour's solo music to Waters' at this point. However, I generally enjoy Roger's creativity and writing. I like most of the records for different reasons, but the earlier ones are my least favorite.

 

I haven’t listened to The Division Bell in full more than a few times but High Hopes is excellent.

 

I still find The Piper at the Gates of Dawn to be brilliant.

Yeah, I’m just a massive Barrett fan to be honest.

 

Man, Meddle is...something. It has some of their most genius and groan-worthy tendencies, but much more toward the genius. "Echoes" obviously lives up to the legend, but I dig "A Pillow of Winds" and "San Tropez" a lot, too.

 

Echoes alone is worth the price of admission

 

The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall are incredible.

 

"A Pillow of Winds" might be their most underrated in my book. Total perfection.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite out of the Dark Side-WYWH-Animals-The Wall sequence. What an unbelievable run that was in just a few years. Animals is probably the most consistent front to back.

Never really given the post-Wall stuff a serious chance. Doubt I will, based on what I've heard of it. Still do need to dig into the Syd era stuff more, even though it never grabbed me in the past.

 

Dark Side of the Moon is still the best sounding record I’ve ever heard

Saw Zabriskie Point for the first time today and, man, their music in that is pretty wonderful.

"Burning Bridges" is straight up top-tier Floyd I won't be discouraged from this
