Where the fuck to these purposefully obtuse victim blaming, abuser enabling pieces of shit come from? I never see you fuckfaces anywhere on this site until you come out from whatever disgusting internet woodwork you spend the rest of your time in at the first sign of someone being outed as an abuser. Fuck outta here
I haven't seen anything anyone has posted in this thread that would make me comfortable calling Evan an abuser. That is extremely strong language that doesn't bear out with what's available publicly.
People who personally know a victim of Evans abuse not good enough for you? Great contribution. Bravo
And other people who personally know Evan contend that portrayal of the situation. You're also insinuating multiple victims based on what?
No, but this thread has been full of discourse, and when you come in here disagreeing with a basic premise that everybody involved in the discourse has already agreed upon and moved forward from, nobody's going to double back for you and start the conversation over.
Evan admitted to "sexual coercion." That is a form of abuse within a relationship (or not in a relationship). A person who abuses somebody can be called an abuser.
I swear I am not trying to be obtuse, but that is not correct. He admitted to being accused of sexual coercion, and there is a big difference. Read the statement again.
"hey kid don't run around the pool" *kid speedwalks as fast as is physically possible with stupid shit eating grin on his face* "i'm not running!"
Welp, this is going to go nowhere. What a noble hill to die on, defending someone who admitted doing something because no they didn't
I get your analogy, but I don't know what else to say. It is factual that he did not admit to sexual coercion. "I have been accused of sexual coercion." =/= I committed sexual coercion. Can you please show me where Evan admitted to committing sexual coercion?
Did you not read the rest of his statement where he admitted to being a total creep and objectifying his fans in the crowd? And have you not noticed that the band dropped all of their plans and went away because of Evan's behavior? Does all of that, along with the fact that he did not deny the accusations made against him, not give you a clear enough picture of this situation?
The band stopped functioning so the dude could get help and counseling and we got Perry Mason in here arguing this ... seriously there are a billion things you can do with your time that isn’t: defend this dude that was so worried someone would call his ass out he wrote one of the most ridiculous statements I’ve seen a band release.
you're being purposely obtuse at this point. You don't have to see a specific set of words in a specific order to deduce that he obviously did some pretty bad shit. The band wouldn't have dropped everything and there would have been no "apology" statement at all if there wasn't anything to it. why do we live in an upside down reality where guys in bands (see: Br*nd N*w) can be accused of something, cancel all their shows, admit to fucking up publicly on the internet, yet people will still argue over meaningless shit like the semantics of how the apology was typed instead of acknowledging that the band guy they like did something terrible
