Especially given those "outros" are obviously very intentional, Evan clearly has an interest in specific tones/moods and a sense of spaciousness in the music. It's not some afterthought
The bit before that too. So would you like that drink? Fine, yeah, I know, I remember that too In your living room, right? When we began to fight but then we both felt confused Then we were laughing and crying in awe of the size of the moon That part honestly brings a very visceral gut reaction, especially the harmonies and build up in the Elsewhere version.
my favorite Pinegrove moment is a tie between their entire recorded catalog and their overall live presence tough to narrow down past that
I love the one sided conversational nature of Size of the Moon. You don’t hear what is said in response but you know.
former guitarist of Pinegrove has a really good EP out, pretty sure everyone would enjoy it. it flew under the radar. Karaoke, by jodi
Evan is an impossibly good live singer. One of the best I've ever heard. Anyways, I love how crisp "that good middle" sounds live, it hits way harder than the recorded version.
Seeing them in one week I cannot believe it. Finally can atone for my cardinal sin of missing them on the IIOI headliner.
Glad you saw what I did there I believe they did a Lolla aftershow at SubT last July, but that was the last one then. They had to cancel the Chi KevDev date, and then only did P4K so far this year.
they did a lolla aftershow but, weird, looked it up and all their other tours didn't seem to do things, blame festivals i guess, heh
Oh yea I forgot about the Lolla aftershow. I got really lucky with the cancelled date cus I went to the Michigan date, which was the last night they played before Evan had to fly out. Still seems pretty crazy that it's been even since Lolla. Pitchfork was great but I'm so excited to see them properly headline.
