This. Everything about how this situation was reported, from Jenn Pelly's piece for Pitchfork to this WaPo article, has been positioned and framed to generate maximum sympathy for Hall and the band. I can't comment as to the severity of Hall's actions, since they're mostly not publicly known, but I have to wonder why so many cultural commentators feel that it's necessary to carry water for him. If Pinegrove wants to mount a comeback, fine, but they certainly don't need the media's help.
