Yeah, I just think it feels so uninspired compared to their previous works. They are definitely great moments and songs on the album, but as a whole it just doesn’t hit hard or feel as cohesive.

Also Vic’s melodies are pretty boring to me. I can’t, for the life of me, remember like 1/2 of the albums choruses, which is only true for A Flair.

i was very happily surprised with it. a couple stinkers on there but most is impressively catchy and there are a lot of cool guitar parts.

  3. I never LOVED this band prior to that album. A perfect post-hardcore/pop/rock album for spring/summer.

I can get that it feels uninspired vocally since Vics voice is actually pretty different on there. But I also think it's ridiculously memorable for that reason haha. And the layering is super good and accentuates the songs so so so delightfully

i think Misadventures is great, it may be a little bit safe for them, but i think it's a very solid album and i'd say it's my second favorite of theirs behind selfish machines.

Idk if id call it safe though its definitely poppy. I just really like that it doubles down on the funk elements that were absent on CWTS

Divine Zero sounds right off Flair, friggin love that song. Texas, circles, whole world, and gold medal are also terrific. Floral is the only stinker for me.

  10. My favorite is Bedless, to be honest. The production and instrumentation on that song is impeccable. I always thought the major key suited them really well but most of their songs are in minor.

The one-two of Gold Medal and Bedless is unreal. My least favorite is Today I Saw by quite a bit but even that is a solid song.

If anything, I think Gold Medal is most like Flair. Just with crazier sounds and more going on. So awesome

Did they break up after the drummer incident or what? No news on them in quite some time.

Vic is always posting about writing. Would prefer it if they got a different drummer but the family tie seems strong

So, they’ve posted new photos all together recently and they blocked me on Instagram for asking if they were going to just pretend those allegations ever existed. So I guess that’s my answer and Mike and the boys are unfortunately pieces of shit.

I assumed when he left and they took some time off that they were ultimately just gonna bring him back in versus replace him. Really sucks.

Agreed. Not that it makes it any better, but they could have at the very least acknowledged that, and not blocked people questioning it. That’s clearly not a good look.

Um.... so this is a thing.

Not really sure what I my thoughts are of this on the initial listen, but it's definitely a pivot from previous work. Reminds me of NIN a bit and a tad Limp Bizkit even.

Hmm, yeah, I like the pivot I think, but having Nirvana in the name seems a little on the nose.

Did they ever address the issues with Mike or did they just kick him out and never talk about it again?
