Had a poke on slsk out of curiosity and I found two different versions of the album, the most noticeable difference being the length of The Boy Who Could Fly, 5:08 or 4:18 with the longer having an extended outro. As far as I can tell, that one's the remaster. Dunno if it's cause I was listening to low quality mp3s or what, but I can't say I preferred one version over the other.
It doesn't explicitly say "original mix/master" or anything, but it says it was mixed by Mike Green. The reissue was mixed by Dan Korneff (and says that on the CD packaging).
Also, kind of unexpected. I had heard rumors of Jaime being flirtatious with underage fans before. Though no one ever really confirmed it. And I had also heard he was just being nice, and people watching him interacting with fans took it the wrong way. But if anything ever came out PtV I expected to be Jaime. So this actually comes as a surprise.
I think the worst part is how he basically laughed off being warned about her age, as if to say "why would I care about that?"
Bingo. At that point you say, I didn’t know how old you were..but this is inappropriate and can’t continue any longer, and readjust the relationship/interactions
It sucks this has to happen, but I'm glad it's all getting out there. The courage of these victims to come forward with their stories in whatever way they are comfortable is inspiring. Pierce the Veil is another band that has meant a lot to me, so this is another rough one. And I can't really see them kicking Mike out in light of this, considering the brother dynamic between him and Vic. So PTV is probably cancelled now.
That’s what I’d do, but I saying as more of a “bare minimum” kind of thing. There needs to be a level of professionism in your fucking job.
I wouldn't be surprised if this comes out for every band in this scene, basically common practice, people may still never give a shit
As someone who holds this band dear, the victim did a huge favor of all of us clarifying that the band probably didn't know. But this is just awful to hear. It even seems that Twitter fans have rejected Mike. How are KIDS more mature and sensible than Brand New fans? It's kinda hopeful, the kids get it. Replace him, move on.
Serious question: if this actually happened, what would we do? Should we as a scene forgive and grow/move on or would most bands just be shut down.
FFS the comments in that thread are awful. I feel terrible for the victim and am tired of the "she should have cut ties with him" or "girls say this when their feelings get hurt" responses. Why do people think saying that shit is okay? There is a young woman who was taken advantage of by an older man, and the guy is still living his life while she had been traumatized. There is zero accountability for these creeps that abuse their power
those who made a mistake once will show their remorse and apologize to victims and the victims might accept apologies and feel that's enough plenty others will be stuck in their ego-driven selves and won't fess up to it and victim blame and those (as well as serial abusers) should be shut down
