2 questions: 1) If I like Genevieve but am not super sold on the other singles, will I like this? 2) how are the drums? I always love PBTT drumming.
Yeah, I feel like he really learned how to keep it interesting with their “no screaming” direction on this album. Keep you is great but he really let loose on wait for love
What an album! The singles didn’t do this record justice imo. They’re good but they left off some of the best songs.
One listen in and I get the feeling like this is their “Million Masks of God”. Really enjoying what I’m hearing.
I was listening to this on my speakers (that are pretty good) but had to stop and put on headphones because I felt like I was missing stuff. The production is pretty different from what they've sounded like in the past but I think over the course of a full album I'll get used to it. Really cool percussive stuff happening on here. I'm sorry but their rhythm section, especially David, have been top tier from the start.
Finally! Release day! Listened through the album a couple times in the car this morning. There’s so much going on that I can’t wait to get home and absorb this through headphones. Much like Seahaven’s Halo of Hurt, as the seasons change and the weather cools down, this album is gonna be fantastic to continue to come back to. This is so damn good.
This is a pretty challenging listen if you were a fan of their previous stuff, but that's better than an album that played it safe for sure. I imagine this will be a huge grower.
This gave me chills, flows perfectly, so far the best album today and I was not let down for sure! Love the bass and its different tones and takes, each track I was thinking "oh this one might be my favorite", so memorable! Can't imagine it will grow even better with time, but it actually still feels this way.
I was not into the opener at all. Rest has been top tier, but man was I concerned when it started. Hopefully that just grows on me.
