Thought this was fine. Nothing really hooked me except for the two seconds where they splash in a black metal bit out of nowhere lol
I assume this will need some time to grow on me. Nothing really stuck with me in my first couple of listens.
Skiv stuck out on my second listen, I listened to Keep You after for probably the first time in a few years and I forgot how much of a classic that is for me, hoping this grows more and more jumps out the next few listens
Yeah, there is just a flash of it at the 1 minute mark. It caught me off guard and went away just as fast lol.
I’m like 1.5 listens - I like it a lot, some super catchy sections and instrumentation, but I feel like there is a LOT of repetition within songs. They sound good individually, but again, feels…repetitive.
yeah like I thought I like it more this morning. particularly when it gets colder I think this record is really gonna land. I'm not ready to say I like it more than WFL though and I definitely don't think it touches KY
gives it a meditative feel imo and matches the flow of the music behind them, i dig it a lot but i can see why its not everyone's cup of tea.
Only listened twice so far but I think this might be really good. Instantly connect with it more than Wait For Love. Reminds me a bit of Deafheaven's album from last year.
Think it will take a few listens for this to connect with me. The intro of Skiv gives me La Dispute vibes.
This is mint. So many nice layers everywhere, love the use of all the extra backing vocals. Hate Chase though, holy sheiiit! Duno where i'd rank it with KY/WFL yet but time will tell.
Not a huge fan of this on first listen which is disappointing. Was hoping it would be one to get me back on track with them after not liking Wait for Love.
Skiv is still my favorite, hoping this grows a lot because other than a few songs this does come off a bit samey/dull but it’s also quite dark and restrained which could hit harder once the fall weather rolls in
First listen and this is really cool, takes some getting used to but I think it's interesting that there's some aggression just below the surface of a lot of these tracks. Getting occasional National vibes and definite Radiohead (In Rainbows in particular) vibes from the rhythm section, but obviously a lot darker. Love "Mouth" and "Skiv" in particular
kinda hooked on this — been on repeat most of the day. not getting as many LPs as I used to (living on a grad school stipend) but i picked this up on red
