Got one listen in this morning and yeah, this is so good. Definitely going to be one of my go-to's for the fall and winter.

Wish they weren't playing here the same night as MCR/Turnstile/Soul Glo (tonight) would love to see them live.

 

granted my first listen was on a run on some busy streets but i was underwhelmed on my first listen through. will have to give it a proper go w/ some good headphones later.

 

i liked it way more on second listen

 

Do not think this is a running album.

 

Second time through and it's really starting to click. Quite gorgeous and nuanced.

 

I usually start my runs pre-dawn, and run long and slow, so I can definitely see this working. Will probably try it this weekend

 

my runs have to be some really heavy stuff. Doesn't work otherwise. It's been Norma Jean, Rolo Tomassi, Greyhaven, ETID, Knocked Loose, etc. lately.

 

This is true, I just think this is most it’s stood out in a long while since they’re trying some really fresh sounds here

 

Yeah I can’t run without heavy music. When someone said they weren’t feeling the new Kendrick album on their run I was like what? That’s the opposite of a running album lol

 

Anyways this is great on the closer now. Not enough love for Hate Chase. Nice little National-like bop

i like "skiv" a lot more in context (i thought i would, i never listened to it after the first day it came out).

"hate chase" to the end is such a great run

 

Can also see a similarity to Panorama with this record. Love the layers on this.

This album is so good. I didn't give the singles much attention but wow, what a first listen.

woke up totally not in the right mood for this today, but I think it'll probably hit after a few more listens

 

not super into this on a first listen, but definitely will give it the headphones treatment tonight.

 

Gave it a second listen with some good headphones. Still not really into it. I'm guessing this'll be a grower if I do get into it.

 

On my first listen and Hate Chase is insane. Wasn't expecting that intensity especially after the entrancing, cold atmosphere of Skiv. The drums blew my mind on that one.

edit: Going to need a couple more listens because I wasn't paying enough attention in the beginning but man the second half is fantastic.

Hate Chase all day

 

Thought this was solid after my first listen. I like a lot of the ideas throughout it, but left wondering how into it I am as a whole. Hoping this is a grower for me, but I certainly don’t dislike it.
