Just a few from today. Got a Ricoh GR IV HDF so took a walk around the neighborhood. Flickr here - going to try my best to start taking photos somewhat regularly.
These look amazing. You've inspired me. I definitely can't afford that camera, but I found a guy posted a dupe where you can get a somewhat similar effect so I picked an old Olympus Pen E-PL5, Lumix g 14mm f/2.5, and a Tiffen Black Pro Mist. Very excited.
Hell yeah! I’ve heard the Tiffen Black Pro Mist is great. I haven’t been using the HDF in all my photos and I’ve been bad at keeping track, but it was definitely used in shot five (the little boats) and I love the effect. Actually it looks like it may have been on in most of these - I accidentally saved one of the user dial modes to have it on by default and I kept forgetting to turn it off lol.
This YouTuber has "created a Ricoh GR IV clone for $200" | Digital Camera World It doesn't cover the HDF so hopefully the Black Mist does something similar.
Fine. Two bonus pics because I just looked through today’s imports again and liked these. Both straight out of the camera besides slight exposure adjustments and cropping (and the frame, obviously).
Making me want to bust out my GRIII but I got some sensor dust that’s bothering me. It’s an easy edit but I hate editing. I really need to change that
Oof, I’m worried about dust myself. Trying my best to put my lens cap on whenever it’s in my pocket, and I also have a Squarehood coming.
Also makes me want to pull my GRIII out again too. @itsameetch do you use any film recipes for your shots?
I’ve been jumping back and forth between a few: 1986 Negative, Reggie’s Portra, and Reggie’s Supra. However, I usually (but not always) just end up taking the RAW and applying a profile to it in LR and then adjusting from there. I did just add a couple more recipes that I’m really looking forward to trying: Bennet’s BW800 and Bennet’s 800.
Camera is being delivered today, can't wait. Pancake lens hasn't shipped from China yet, but it comes with the kit lens. Hopefully that and the filter get here soon, I want to be well acquainted before we go to Hawaii in 2 weeks.
This is pretty rad. I'm really digging the MFT format. Apparently you can fit pretty much any kind of DSLR and vintage lens on this thing with an adapter too.
I did not get any great shots, but I found a park near the office that I went to on my break the other day and played with some geese. I think this one would have been cool if I had gotten on the ground and took it at their level. Some other random ones from around my office building that aren’t even worth sharing, shot using Bennet BW800.
Recently learned that “Ponyhenge” is a thing not far from me, lol. Didn’t really get anything special yesterday but here are a few from Ponyhenge and then Boston. I went downtown hoping to do some street photography but it turns out the 28mm focal length of the GR is going to take some serious getting used to before I’m comfortable getting shots of people.
