  1. Yeah yesterday was pretty great. I keep thinking we're done with days like that until fall, but we just keep getting treated with little one-offs.

Really wanna try and hit up Sedona sometime this month

That new festival Lost Lake announced the lineup today. Chance, Noname, The Roots, and Danny Brown all spark my interest... but nothing else really. And it's $165 bucks for the three days with currently no schedule out to say who is playing when, or if single day passes will be available

Really want to support the festivals we try to put on here but there's just never enough pull for me to justify shelling out the cash :/

That lineup looks like fun but damn that's pricey. I'm going to wait it out as usual to see the schedules.

Interesting lineup, but a little more than I'm willing to pay.

Bitching about summer made me miss those hot and cloudy monsoon mornings where it's silent and the sun rays shine through. It's only a matter of time.

Really enjoyed this place last time I was in Phoenix.

So glad monsoon season is starting up. I've missed these moody, wide open skies.

  8. Same. Took my dog on a longer walk than I normally would this time of year cause it was so pretty looking out. Forecast says thunderstorms next weekend!

  9. Apparently it's hailing in Mesa right now. It's been a weird start to monsoon season, at least in my area. Lots of sprinkling rain but it hasn't really come down super hard yet

Weird. I'm in Mesa and it's just really windy and dark.

gonna be in Scottsdale for a week or two around the 19th. Might be shooting a commercial and meeting up with some business partners but other than that I'll need some stuff to do to kill time. Also I've never been involved in a video project so I'm excited.

  12. Weird! Maybe it was only a small part of Mesa. My girlfriend works near the Nile Theater so I'm assuming she was talking about that area. I'm in Chandler right now and yeah it's mostly just super dark and crazy windy out

  13. Oh shit, that's awesome! Congrats on getting your first big project. Are you gonna be working with people you know at all or are they just sending you to meet with a bunch of randos in another state?

Well like 5 minutes after my comment, the rain hit. No hail, but plenty of rain and thunder right now. Glad it all hit after I got home. I'm closer to Tempe in AZ off Dobson, so it's possible Mesa got hail, haha. I was just surprised there was mention of hail at all.

Oh I'm not necessarily needed there but I do want to be able to oversee it and make sure they don't put anything dumb in the commercial. It's a commercial for my app that we're gonna put on FB and instagram sometime in september. I helped find a co-director for it and some equipment people. Our business manager for AZ will be there and I want to meet him, have only talked to him over the phone and I'm supposed to make sure he's getting shit done while I'm there haha.

Angry monsoon skies are the best. I love looking at them every time I step outside.

  18. Yeah I'll have to ask her about the hail thing in a little bit, she may have been exaggerating now that I think about it. I don't think hail is even possible at whatever temp we're at right now lol. But that's cool, you're actually pretty close to me, I live in Tempe off of Elliot!

  19. Woah, big things dude! Very cool. Well tbh I don't venture over to Scottsdale that often so idk where the good food/hang out spots are these days. I feel like every day I'm seeing someone that lives there post some amazing looking food from a place I've never heard of though.

As far as bigger attractions, I know they put in an aquarium recently but I've heard it's not great. Topgolf is a fun time if you like drinking and smacking golf balls around haha, I'm terrible at it but usually enjoy myself. The mall in Scottsdale is pretty big and there is some other decent shopping in that area. Oh and I think there's an indoor skydiving place now? lol I have no idea what that's all about.

And then obviously there are cool outdoor activities like hiking and stuff but mid-August is def not the time for that in AZ hah

Indoor skydiving sounds like a blast might have to look that up. Thankfully I have a good friend in Phoenix who I can hang out and go to different spots with. I know the business manager wants to set me up at a table for one of the clubs he promotes in Tempe so that might be fun but I’m not really into clubs. But if my friends wants to go I might do that, again it’s hard to beat free drinks haha.

Idk the club I just know he works for Triyar Entertainment there and they own a few nice ones in the area

In 2007, my sister and I saw Spitalfield's farewell tour w/The Forecast at The One Place. 10 years later, I go into that same building to get breakfast at Matt's. One of those weird coincidences that makes me feel all nostalgic inside.

There were actually a ton of good bands that played there, including Weatherbox.

  23. Yeah, The One Place was poppin hard for the pretty short amount of time it was around! Weatherbox was there a couple of times I believe. One of the shows I played there was with Cassino and The Color Fred once, that was cool. Don't remember why I missed that Spitalfield show, they were one of my favorite bands back in those days (still love them, actually).

But it's a breakfast spot now, eh? Any good? I might have to go check it out one of these days

Pretty sure that was the only time I went there. I didn't keep up with venues at the time but I know a lot of them are closed now. I totally forgot about Cassino, too haha. So good.

It's called Matt's Big Breakfast. Unfortunately, Guy Fieri had it on one of his shows, so it's super popular and usually busy. Still a solid place for breakfast imo if you can avoid the crowds. It's like a 25 minute drive for me but it's worth it for their waffles. They started down the street and moved to the bigger location sometime within the last few years, maybe longer.

Went to an arcade bar called Cobra last night, was a lot of fun. Then went to some bar that was like, in an alley. had this mural covering the door and just a red light above it, forgot the name. despite being kinda gimmicky the drinks were really good.
