So weird, I finally listened to this girl last night and now this thread pops up, and there was an article about her on NPR a few hours ago. Anyway, this new song is great. And I bought that Pax-Am 7" first thing this morning. She's fantastic.
Saw her open for Julien Baker last year in Toronto—she was great! Played an amazing cover of The House That Heaven Built also.
Wow, wow, wow. Have listened to this over and over again since last night, as well as the rest of her material that I could find on Spotify. Really hope this is from a full-length or something -- if the rest were to be anything like this it'd be a very early AOTY contender for me.
When I first heard this on my Discover Weekly playlist, I literally listened to it five times in a row, before proceeding to the next track, it's that good. It's like you're listening to a complete novel of emotions from beginning to end of track. Can't wait for a full-length from her
Missed the beginning of her set, but she was great. "Georgia" was the highlight. She mentioned between songs that she didn't know when the album was coming out, but I'd assume it's this year. I bought the Smoke Signals 7" from her and had the chance to talk to her briefly, she was super nice. Hope her upcoming dates with Ryan Adams will earn her a lot of new fans, she deserves to blow up.
Smoke Signals just absolutely floored me in a way a lot of songs just can't. Now I'm listening to her EP and really enjoying what I'm hearing. This discovery honestly just made my whole day a little better.
Sounds like the record is done. It just needs a label now. Gasparilla Music Festival 2017: Phoebe Bridgers Tom Waits cover
