For me it's actually the opposite. I always worry that I'll become attached to a live version or demo version of a song and then not appreciate the album version as much. It's happened enough times for me to steer clear of live recordings of new songs, in most cases.
Because at the show I’d be... at the show. Haha. It’s like the difference between being at the show and watching a recording of it. Not the same thing at all.
I just feel like you're hearing the same thing whether it's at the show or from a recording, especially if the person recording is close to the stage or there's no background noise. I do respect peoples reasons for not listening though, even though I don't necessarily agree.
I mean tbh I mostly prefer to hear new material in a studio recording anyway. But yeah, idk, the experience of hearing a new song from an artist via a phone recording for the first time just feels cheap to me. I don’t trust the sound quality, and the intimacy of being there in the room is absent.
Made a new thread since the album is coming soon most likely. Phoebe Bridgers - TBA (2020) • forum.chorus.fm
Yeah I’ve seen maaannnnny examples on this site alone where people become obsessed with the live version of new songs, and then always complain about the album version.
shes playing a secret LA show tomorrow night. i'm beginning to think that its likely she drops a single on halloween tbh
I just listened to Christmas Song for the first time since January wow it's so good how does she even make good christmas music
Not at all ashamed to say that I played that song pretty regularly throughout this year and essentially exclusively on repeat last holiday season. It's so good. Getting close to that time again...
Hi everyone, Does anyone have the Stranger in the Alps artwork without the title written on it? Thank you very much!
