Last 30 days, according to Last.fm. Jeez, I have been obsessed with these two. 1 Julien Baker 196 2 Phoebe Bridgers 188
Has/is anyone going To see her with Noah? Hoping she plays more than eight songs it says she’s been playing in europe
As she's support that seems about right, she played more at her headline shows over here obvs. Basically played whole album (minus "You Missed My Heart" much to my dismay) when playing the longer sets.
Oooooh yeah we did. It's the best. Also she gave some pretty juicy commentary on the songs. She's really funny
I'll spoiler because she'll probably go over the same stuff at other dates before"Killer" she said "This is a song about murdering. I also recorded this song before with someone who had to see a picture of me before he'd record with me... Fuck that" And before "Motion Sickness" she said "Here's a love song about someone I *really* don't like." Anyway the audience ate that song up, and laughed and cheered at the first few lines
Yeah the chat between songs is so great, it's why 8 or so songs may seem like a small amount as a support set but it's so good to have her interactions. Friend who was at her Glasgow show told me about that picture before recording story. Abhorrent. Before "Motion Sickness" she gave us a couple of different stories too on the few times I saw her basically saying how "it's a song about how you can fall for someone, and be so caught up in them even despite you knowing it's not good for you and they're not a good person. So that person sucks anyways and this about them." I was constantly blown away by her voice in general but damn, the way she belts out the end of "Motion Sickness" live - fucking rockstar. Glad you had a great time/show!
Yeah it was such a great show. Oh yeah she also played 2 covers. Townes Van Zandt - "When Your Dream Lovers Die" and Tom Petty - "It'll All Work Out". Admittedly I wasn't familiar with the songs but she did great on those
holy shit ya'll......she was so mesmerizing live. i couldn't take it. i got chills on my arms during the first song which was smoke signal. i was completely enthralled. i felt like i got hit in the gut. just reaffirmed my love for her even more and without doubt, this is my favorite album to come out this year thus far.
I can’t get over “Scott Street.” I don’t think it’s just the best song on the record, it’s my favorite song of the year.
Managed to snag a "Smoke Signals" 7" today too with the "Motion Sickness" demo as a b-side. Anybody else got one? Excited to hear the b-side.
