I was supposed to see her in Michigan a couple of March's ago, but there was a bad snow/ice storm and it was too far to drive for the show in that kind of weather. Bummed, cause she won't play venues like that again.

Remember when we made that whole tour thread abt crying over it being too dangerous to drive and everyone got so mad at us lmao

Gotta love the weird Best New Artist category going to artists a few years into their careers or whenever they actually broke out.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Same, I had tickets to that show. Still sad about it. But yeah, that storm was truly awful and I couldn’t risk the drive.

I still have never seen snowflakes that big in my entire life. I still don’t know how my little Mazda 6 made it from Kalamazoo to Pontiac in that weather, but I’m so glad it did. She played literally every song she had at that point in her career. What a night.

  12. do all small venues in michigan look the same because I would have sworn to you that that picture is of the pyramid scheme in grand rapids, where I saw japandroids on a frigid day in early 2012 along with a few dozen other people

They kind of all do have a certain vibe. TPS and the venue above are actually pretty different inside though

I was committed! In hindsight it probably isn't the smartest thing I've ever done, but everything ended working out.

Pyramid scheme is my favorite Michigan venue. The sound is always perfect.

While we are discussing small Michigan venues.. my first time seeing phoebe was April 2016 on my birthday, opening for Julien at the Magic Bag in Ferndale. First concert i ever went to with my now-fiancé. One of the best nights of my life.

And now she’s nominated for all these Grammys. So crazy.

  25. One of my favorite shows of all time was seeing phoebe at my favorite spot in LA with a couple hundred other people.
