Is “DVD Menu” a distorted sample of the same melody as “You Missed My Heart”? If so, epic way to transition records.
it is! I saw that on the iTunes description. There is info on each songs and she mentioned that for DVD Menu
First listen last night on the ride back from work to my mother in law's house. Took a sort of meandering back roads way and had the windows down because it was still pretty warm and muggy out even at 11 PM. Entire album is absolutely phenomenal, but I had an almost transcendental experience as the song Savior Complex washed over me for the first time. It immediately felt like a song I've known intimately and loved intrinsically for years, the type of song that feels like part of your DNA, where you sound foolish even trying to describe how you feel about the song to even someone else who loves that song a lot as well. If that has happened to me before I don't remember it, and it was probably a long time ago when I was first discovering music for myself. It's not one of the songs I hear mentioned as a standout on the album so far either. When the song finished I hit repeat and played it again right away because I had sort of zoned out even though it was in a great way. Every other song was fucking amazing as well. TLDR: This album is very special.
Being mostly deaf in one ear creates some wild variation in songs depending on if you listen in mono or stereo or out loud or with headphones or even just switching the ear the headphones are on. Picking up so many nice little nuances with this album listening different ways.
yup - same reason why I'm not posting my Phoebe review today I'd recommend everyone donating to one of the causes she listed yesterday with the early release Listen to Phoebe Bridger's New Album 'Punisher'
this is the first album i've had on just straight repeat for a long while. every time i notice a new port that i love.
yeah it's hands down going to be my album of the year and will absolutely be a top 10 album on all the end of the decade lists. the real questions is how many albums of hers will be in the end of the decade top 10 haha
