There are a few other people at my work that are Phoebe fans and we put the album on over the speakers. One of them didn't know it came out early and he looked at the iPad and looked at me and the other Phoebe fan with a bewildered look. I was like "yeah she released an album today." He said "good, I need a reason to be sad for a week" lol
the harmonies on Graceland Too are pure magic. I’m so enamoured with the whole album rn so it’s hard to pick favourite songs but I can see that one becoming my #1.
haha i had someone mention that punisher sounded like a song off the frozen soundtrack the coolest part about i see you is that she did some of the vocals through a megaphone
i think i finally figured out where i'm getting the big bright eyes vibe from. the end of i know the end is really reminiscent of the end to road to joy.
Had a good listen with my headphones. First listen and I’m not blown away by the whole thing yet, which surprises me, but it sounds great and I can already tell the more subdued songs are going to grow on me like mad. One thing I do know right off the bat: “Graceland Too” and “I Know the End” are an unreal ending to this record and probably her best songs yet.
All the best songs of 2020 have Satellites in the title huh. Enter Shikari's satellites* *, Phoebe's Chinese Satellites, what next
It’s hard to find a weak spot on this. Moon Song and Savior are the two I can’t recall from memory, but I know I like them while listening
The “sing along to an America First rap country song” in a song about the apocalypse is low key one of the best lines on here
I've only listened a couple of times but not counting the intro I liked 5 out of 5 in the first half and then and wasn't really feeling Moon Song, Savior Complex or Graceland so only 2 out of the last 5.
As far as the ending of the album, Phoebe’s been saying for several years that she’s wanted to scream on a track. Glad she finally got able to.
