Its not a 1:1 comparison, but Strangers to this reminds me of the jump from For Emma to BI, BI. Just some unreal songwriting and production.
Well. I didn’t like it as much as I had anticipated. Still enjoyed it. Will have to give it a few more listens. I think Kyoto is still my favorite though. Chinese Satellite and I Know The End are my favorites from the new ones. I think Lucy and Julien are backing on Graceland? Enjoyed that one too.
First listen I felt it was good but for me it’s nowhere close to SITA.. then I listened to Moon Song again this morning and got chills.. so I think it’s really good and also a grower which bodes well.
Gonna check it out now. Wonder if my shirt + album will get here directly on the 19th?? I am currently experiencing package limbo for a few things
gonna try to stay out of this thread until I can listen but man all these reactions have me sooooo hyped
The estimated arrival for mine just updated from Thursday night to THIS AFTERNOON! Glad I waited because I’m gonna get my first listen tonight on vinyl!
I think the way the guest vocals slowly come together in I Know the End really feels like an "end of an era" moment. And I totally know it's not, but I think it really feels like a summation of all the work and collaborations she's done since SITA, if that makes any sense. Just a really special moment.
i'm eating an egg with my hand because i forgot my fork and don't want to pause to get one so i guess that's the highest praise i've given all year
“So she picks a direction, it’s 90 in Memphis Turns up the music so thoughts don’t intrude Predictably winds up thinking of Elvis, and wonders if he believed songs could come true” damn this is good
