It’s old. It was originally uploaded to The Fader’s YouTube channel. I guess Phoebe/Dead Oceans just wanted it on her channel as well or something.
At this point, I think Phoebe won't be on the rescheduled dates for The 1975's tour. Her album will have been out for months and if she does the tour and then a headliner it will be nearly a year since the album came out. I feel like even though opening for The 1975 is a big opportunity for her it makes sense for her to capitalize on her popularity since she's blown up and do a headliner when shows start happening again.
Based on BJ Burton's Instagram story last night there is a song on the way featuring Phoebe, The Japanese House, and Bon Iver. Going to try and find a video.
Ok so it seems to possibly be a new Japanese House song that Justin and Phoebe are featured on. Phoebe @ 1:19 + 2:32 - JV @ 3:33 Obviously the quality is terrible but it's super exciting regardless!!!!
I found Phoebes old band om bandcamp today Edit: it seems that Ask to me is an early version of Steamroller
Yeah I've listened to it a good 5 times by now. It's actually more up my alley than her solo work. Not saying it's better or anything it's just super cool to have an alt-country album with one of my favorite singers.
I am approaching the pre-release period where all I am capable of thinking about is how much I want this album.
I’ve always loved steamroller.. more than a good chunk of tracks on SiTA but this version puts it over the top. It’s soooo good. I’m obsessed with this release.
Pretty sure the first time I saw phoebe in 2016 one of the guys from this band played with her for a song or two?
Looking at the bandcamp notes for Buster, they thank a lot of Whitfords, (presumably, Harrison’s family) notably a Brad who I think might be Aerosmith’s guitarist..haha. What a weird connection.
